10 New Cars That Are Worth Waiting For
On the BRZ, Why do people think that an econobox with 150Ft/Lbs of torque for $28,000 is going to be great? Mid 7 seconds 0 to 60, and Slowbaru saying no turbo/STi version for the foreseeable future? Even if they did slap a turbo on that, and sell it for $36,000, wouldn't you want to stick the power to the asphalt and go AWD with a WRX STi or Evo for the same money?
FAIL.
If they sold it for $22,000 out the door, it would make sense as a beginner's economy car with great handling and sporty enough styling. The tuners would be all over it.
You can get a mazdaspeed3 for $22,000 and it goes 0 to 60 in 5.9 seconds, and it gets great mileage.
For $28,000 though? Subaru failed.

Yea that's definetly a let down...it was my understanding that Suby was gonna toss an EJ in and call it a day. But that apparently was some tuner mag BS. The FRS got a nice review in Modified since its relatively light weight, handles well, and 200hp for an NA 4cyl isnt too bad. We're all too spoiled now to ever go back to that sort of car lol. It's like trying to impress a full-blown junky with a joint. Should be a fun car for whipping around town without going too fast or losing traction
Anybody looking forward to the new mustang gt500? I'm really liking it! If it wasn't for the live axle I think the ford engineers did everything right. Carbon driveshaft, twin disc clutch, adjustable bilsteins, engine oil coolers, diff coolers, recaros, torsen diff, 300lbs lighter, etc. Should be awesome.

EDIT: Oh yea I forgot.....7000rpm redline and 662hp.

I've seen the BRZ in person, sat in it and checked out the underpinnings. It's a nice car. Much nicer in person.
If any of you guys have/drive/driven the original AE86 corolla, or miata, then you would understand why such a car has garnered so much excitement.
I would like to own one myself.

They should put a turbo on it, and leave it rwd, and have the power somewhere in the 285-290 range. Then, it would be a powerful little car, and be a blast to drive, but not for $36,000. Id say $28,000 with a turbo.
its not always about power. I guess since this is an evo forum most ppl here care about power too much. Brz is a nice car. balanced fun rwd. Why must a car be awd. I really enjoy driving rwd cars. it everything was awd the automotive world would be a dull place.
