okay guys. Anything you heard from any dealer/spokesperson..... forget about it...
I just got back from the LA auto show and talked with 5 different Mitsubishi reps (1 that worked at a local dealer, 3 for the show, and 1 survey taker/goodie back giver.)
they all had THIS to say about the new cars:
"I dunno..."
"it sounds like you know more about it than I do..."
"they never tell us anything until it's on the lot..."
The reason why i'm posting this is because there is alot of talk about no 2012 evo's in the US, also about the SE getting the 148 HP engine.
YES on the evo in 2012.
168 HP in SE, with ES bumper/grill, no manual option. 2wd/4wd/lock AWD system.
The lancer GTS will be the GT. It'll have everything the same, exept new eco shift light and ralliart front bumper without ralli-badge. New Rims. New interior accents. New Ambient lighting..
Yes, I know this is all semi-old news, but the rep at the auto show told me that the none of the lancers will have a stickshift option. Last month a salesman at a dealership told me the same thing...HOWEVER, the BOOKLET, Corporate binder, AND the media website ALL say that the ES/DE/GT all will have a 5 speed option.
I cannot believe that I've talked to at least 10 people since the SE was announced in august, and not a single one of them know anything about it -_-
guy at auto show: "did you hear about the SE?"
me: "...it's not a stick, so I can't drive it."
guy: "NONE of them are gonna be sticks....wait....unless.....*checks corporate binder* OMG they ARE! all exept the SE and Ralliart!"
me: so my next car will be the GT...not the SE...thanks....*walks away.*
That conversation pretty much ended the night : / I have pictures to post soon.

This is exactly the same stuff I have gotten from Honda reps and salespeople in the past when I was in the Honda scene. Pretty much standard fare for them. If I told you how many times I have been told, "Well, you know more about it than I do", or "We are never told what is going on", I would fill a book.
Sounds pretty strong then that there will be a 2012. Not sure why Mitsubishi is playing their cards so close to their chest though because it is not like something new is debuting. Why can't Mitsubishi be forthright in this?
