We will probably have the same everything. I recall when the 2007 evo were actually called 2006 with polished bbs's due to emission or something. I believe Mitsubishi may do the same and sell the remaining parts.

Apparently, the X will continue till 2016 with Mitsu's brakes and race seats. Then in 2017 a 500 hp hybrid will replace it.

Jalopnik had an article on the 2015 Evo X and nowhere did it say that the Recaros would be discontinued. And, the article states that indeed, the Brembos will be on the car for 2015. http://jalopnik.com/mitsubishi-publi...015-1602377507

What's New for 2015

New heated side view mirrors with turn indicators and drop cup holder with lid (all models)

Currently in its 10th generation, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution high-performance luxury sports sedan bows out with the 2015 model year edition.

Having won four straight World Rally Championship titles in the skillful hands of driver Tommi Mäkinen, the Lancer Evolution is arguably the originator of the four-door sports car genre.

With its whirlwind 2.0-liter DOHC turbocharged and intercooled MIVEC 4-cylinder engine, communicative steering feel, race-bred suspension, athletic Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive system and choice of a short-throw 5-speed manual gearbox or rapid-fire 6-speed Twin-Clutch Sportronic® Shift Transmission (TC-SST), the 2015 Lancer Evolution offers breathtaking performance with the convenience and roominess of a sedan.

Along with the aforementioned high-tech twin-clutch transmission that allows the driver to rapidly select gears via steering wheel paddle shifters or the shift lever, the premium Lancer Evolution MR model includes a low-profile rear lip spoiler and bi-xenon auto-off High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, among other features, in its standard equipment package.

The MR version sees further performance gains thanks to lightweight BBS® 18-in. forged-alloy wheels, special two-piece lighter weight Brembo® front brake rotors, Bilstein® shock absorbers and Eibach® springs.

My fault for paying attention to Mitsu's sales manager! Bad information.

No worries. I had to eat crow when I made a thread that the Evo would be discontinued at the end of 2014. I used info from Autoblog, but I should have known that they are just as in the dark as I am about it. Between internet sites and confused Mitsubishi sales people, somewhere lies the truth.

That article just posted doesn't say anything about recaro seats, and based on every other name brand they dropped in it, the fact that they don't list recaros is probably a good indicator they have, indeed, been removed. Every other thing I read that is official from mitsu talking about the evo mentions recaros. Including the outgoing description of features for the 2014.
http://www.mitsubishi-motors.ca/en/v...2014/features/

At first, I was going to be a little disappointed with the "new standard features" and then you get to the end and it says (MR model).

So basically the same car, minus recaros, and add fancy side view mirrors. If they price it the same, they are out of their minds.

Funny, I heard the Recaro sport seats are out for ALL OEM applications in the USA due to DOT air bag safety requirements...

Since the article doesn't say anything about the Recaros, there is a 50/50 chance they will still be there. I sometimes think that Mitsubishi does this to fuel speculation on the Evo so that people will buy them thinking that the next year's version will be worse. If anyone recalls, back in 2011, people here on this site were saying that the 2011 X would be the final year of this iteration. So, I searched far and wide in the US in August of that year to find an Octane Blue GSR that was priced reasonably. Then, lo and behold, there was a 12 and a 13 and a 14 and now a 15. Of all the car companies, Mitsubishi has to be the most inscrutable of all.

idk - dealers do that a lot, idk if it actually comes from mitsubishi themselves. the rest of the "announcements" are just car blogs trying to read tea leaves from mitsubishi's announcements.

i can only assume the car won't have recaros which would be a disappointment.. way to end a legend mitsu

From what I understand MMNA fought to have the evo here one more year where most everywhere else this is the last year.

Right. He's saying they, a distributor for north america, fought with mitsubishi motors, the manufacturer, to offer one last year here. Seeing as how the rest of the world won't be getting a 2015 evo, it's probably a safe assumption. I bet Mitsubishi agreed because they had stock left to clear out.

right, and i'm calling out mitsubishi, the head company, for doing a poor job. that said, mitsubishi doesn't have "stock" to clear out, we're LHD here and i heard production for the '15s began this month
