sales rep mentioned in passing that msrp will go down 500 because of no recaros.

Yeah, Mitsu publicized that recently. A half assed attempt to make it seem like they want to compensate for it, until you realize the recaros are like $3k seats and those horrid things they get now are worth $1500 at best. There was no way they were going to drop the price that much, but I hope they suffer in sales for it.

I saw a review of WRX STi, if its any comfort to you, WRX STi doesnt have any better seats either. I think if you buy '15, prepare to to save $2k for recaro seating and dealership fee(I honestly think that they will try to steal money from you so they don't void your warranty or something like that).
I'd honestly start licitating price down with dealership. EVO should be $30k car by now.

The price hasn't changed too much from when it was released close to 7 years ago now, despite a few minor changes to the car (that still wouldn't add much cost). Considering inflation and the fact that it's still the same chassis, price staying the same or relatively close means it probably is cheaper now than when it first came out.

However, with this massive change in what is one of the more valuable and distinguishing parts of the car being removed, yeah, they absolutely should be dropping that price more. Also, I'm sure they've long since amortized their manufacturing tooling costs so they're (mitsubishi, not the dealerships) probably raking in heavy profit on each evo, despite low sales.
