The rumors going around about performance + the limited quantity going to be released just tells me to imagine it's not going to happen because the price point will be too high for me to get one before they sell out.

People even argue that $40k is way too much for a Mitsubishi. So don't worry about it being $82k, but at the very least, don't expect it to sticker for anything less than $38k, even in the scenario that it is basically an otherwise identical GSR but with a few extra ponies and an SAM badge. And it's likely to be that.
Mitsubishi obviously isn't going to develop a bunch of new stuff for a limited model of a car that isn't exactly flying out of dealerships, so it's likely that most of its hardware is going to be the same... engine, transmission, wheels, brakes, shocks, etc. It's possible that some of the parts might come from the MR (like the wheels, brakes and shocks) but maybe with some different springs (since those aren't too difficult to manufacture) and possibly even a different front lip or something.

I would not be heartbroken if Mitsubishi left the country. My evo has been a total nightmare. 2 timing chains all wheel dive pump or whatever they call it struts went out seat came apart and rattles out the butt. I left a heavily built Subaru and drove it for 120,000 hard as hell miles with not 1 issue except tickets for loud exhaust tinted windows and no front plate . I bought the evo and within 30k timing chain struts and all wheel pump .. Never agian will I buy this brand. I hope they quit making cars

Could this be true?
Very looking forward to this “Special Action Model” for US.

Are they really calling it the "Special Action Model"?
Thats about the lamest name imaginable.
What happened to FQ?
IMO, FQ is one of the best monikers to date.
Europe gets FQ, we get Special action. weak
Ive got a special action for you Mitsu -
Dumb *** name **** aside, Im super excited about this possibility. Fingers Crossed!

"Special Action Model" is an internal name for a low-production model with content that is outside of the normally available trim levels. The '10 SE was a "Special Action Model" - the name is not what it will be branded as (it will probably be the "SE" again that they stick onto the tailgate, trunk, etc. of anything that fits this place in the lineup.
I'm also curious to see exactly what the "performance enhancements" include!

I cant help but I cant shake the feeling that 2 things are likely 2 happen;
1- It is a depressing end to the evo and wont be much of a significant improvement or a proper goodbye rather very small differences/half *** attempt to say goodbye to the car as the corporation walks out of the room.
or,
2- the car will go out with a bang (unlikely) and have a significant improvement over the previous years of this top end model, similar to what the 03-04 Cobra was to the early 2000s cobras (100hp addition). Possible jump in horsepower by a decent amount. If this is the case the car will be marked up and be very hard to get.
and sadly the most realistic and likely scenario is the half *** attempt to say goodbye to the car.
Hopefully I'm wrong.

400bhp
There's every possibility that this US Special could have atleast 400bhp. In the UK as standard we had the FQ300, FQ330, FQ360, they did a limited run of the FQ400. This year to celebrate 40 years of Mitsubishi in the UK they have released for sale, but not yet delivered the FQ440, with only 40 being made. They all sold within the 1st hour of release with just a spec sheet available.
So anything is possible.
Unfortunately our last Evo X and standard Lancers were sold in 2011, nothing has been stocked since.

Not much of an update, but
"the 2015 Lancer Evolution GSR with a 5-speed manual gearbox will be priced $500 lower than the outgoing model. The 2015 Lancer Evolution MR with a 6-speed twin clutch Sportronic Shift automatic will get a price increase of $800".
Believing that there won't be Recaro seats in 2015 models, $800 increase in the MR trim??
Maybe the MR trim comes with some of the Premium Package deals already from the factory and Mitsubishi included it in the MSRP.
Here is more info/details on pricing from Mitsubishi.
