I'd love for it to come, don't get me wrong, I already have a 20k down payment ready for it if it does. However, why would SPEED magazine need to "flip" an image of the interior to try and convince people that it is?

Also note that the "many sources" are all the publishers of the big duo of car magazines, Road and Track, Car and Driver, SPEED magazine, etc -- all have had similiar information about the MR, and all are owned by the same company.

If SPEED magazine was willing to counterfeit a picture to sell magazines, Im definately not going to trust anything their parent magazines say anymore.

Until I see a press release straight from Mitsu with an MSRP and amount coming over to NA, I'll keep my hopes from getting too high.

I will hope. I will TRY not to go crazy when it lands to avoid paying dealer market adjustments. I may be hard though.

Um, You're reading too much into the flipped pic
The article clearly stated he drove the Japanese MR and in his opinion it would be coming to the US by this year
They didn't say these were pics of the US MR, so what they flipped a pic? Big deal

I can't believe so many people are going so crazy fater the MR, I mean it only loses about 30 pounds (buy a smaller battery and lose some weight yourself, there you go) and gains some ACD and AYC that will screw it over for future mantainance and diff problems. It's a nice car, but why spend all the cash on the MR when you can get a normal evo and put that money into a dynoflash or exhuast, suspension, whees, etc...

yeah, its the RS that has the more significant weight savings. they drop the AC and the stereo system, no sunroof or wing to name a few. besides, it doesn't look like the MR will ever make it here anytime soon with mitsubishi in the condition their in.

If I had to buy again, I'd go with the RS since it's cheaper. Since I'd use it as a daily driver, I'd add in the option package to get the AC back in. I could go aftermarket for some satellite radio and still have $1000's left over for mods. Just my 02.

AYC case? or the real thing? if it's just the case, do you think they'll even come out with a 2006? with the AYC option? haha.. that would be messed up.

This will be nice for those that enjoy high tech gadgetry and I'm sure the weight reduction will be awesome along with the AYC and ACD probably very beneficial but I bet maintainence will be no fun at all, and the repair bills for these systems when they break will be nasty if repair is even an option, good luck to all who get one and I would love to ride shotgun in one some day but I enjoy easy maintainence, just one of the many factors that directed me to the Evolution and not the STi.

Mitsu needs to get there act together on the Evo! It's already May 2004, and they are still trying to sell 2003 Evos.. They better only have about 90 days worth of Evos for 2004, ~1500, and then switch to 1005 Evo in September. I'm sold on the MR showing up, I just wish they'd stop trying to fix a problem from last year by creating more problems this year. They are going to lose out on any COTY awards again if the 05 MR isn't here in just a few short months.. They need to realize the problem isn't going to be covered up, accept it, and get on with the Evo evolution..

Or when they said they US Evo might diverge from other markets they meant it was going to stay the same car and same model year for 4 years?

Mitsu is just annoying right now. They need super fast < 60 day massive top down corporate culture and perception.

Oh well.. Time to go drive for a while and enjoy the finally drying up backroads from last nights flooding..

I know it's coming and waiting for it is fine, but waiting for Mitsu to pull it's head out of it's tard rear end is painful to wait for.

but wait, now that i think about it isnt it the RS that's 300 pounds lighter? It's not the MR, the MR is the one with everything..plus better turbo, wheels, vortex creator, etc.

bobaab... the rs is lighter too but yes the MR is 300 pounds lighter.. or so its said to be.. which when i think about it, it doesn't make that much sense seeing that they still have everything interior wise as we do... have a heavier tranny. but idk... i guess the car is gonna be a death trap though... i couldn't imagine being hit in my car after i have seen some wrecked evos.. let along the mr.. with this.. all aluminum stuff... idk.. i say evo viii all the way.. **** the mr

The MR is coming and I have an order for one in myself. The car will be around 200 pounds lighter than the current model Evo VIII, have at least another 10 horsepower and have better cams, bigger turbo, better suspension, 6 speed, active diffs, lighter wheels and that great looking titatnium color. I can't wait to get mine in September and start throwing our goodies at it.

Is this real inside scoop you guys at Vishnu got from Mitsu or just what we've all been hearing?
