MR suspension info

Wow, this can't be the MR suspension right? Did Mitsubishi really delivering a true sports car in the states? Forget the spec C this suspension looks awesome.

http://www.z1auto.com/submodel.asp?m...o&cat=handling

Bilstein/Ralliart Adjustable Suspension Kit looks kick *** with the double springs for stock ride and coil over performance.

With ACD, SAYC, and front LSD i'm willing to pay 35 grand for this bad boy.

Anybody know's the difference in suspension? Shock, stiffer swaybars and etc?

I went to the UK Mitsubishi site, and did a little math to try and guess where an MR would get priced.

The base 8 over there is about 42.150 in USD
The top-of-the-line FQ 340 is about 57,950 in USD

Assuming the MR is about what the FQ 340 is, and assuming it's about 1.4 times more expensive to buy a car in the UK (Divided 42,150 by 30,000 the rough price of the 8 with wing and sunroof) that would suggest that the MR would MSRP for about $41,400 if we actually get it.

I know it's a guesstimate, but you won't be seeing a $35K MR in any dealer showroom in the USA, that's for sure.

Why wouldn't it sell for 35k? All the magazines, which is quite a few now, are all saying that it will be under 35k. If you are talking about dealer mark-up's I don't really think that will happen too much because look at what happened when the dealers marked up the 03's when they were brand new.

Off topic but does the lotus elise come with coilovers? I know the damping is adjustable.

Who knows, why not make those coilovers optional on the MR?

Adam - PM me about these please. This is what I was looking for. If you can get the spring rates, that would be great.

There was an article in the Japanese magazine Option on the MR. It was equipped with conventional McPherson struts by Bilstein, not coilovers.

The expectation is that the MR will have an MSRP of less than $35k, as it will be a slightly watered down version of the Japanese MR. (it will have ACD, but no SAYC)

If those are factory or optional on the MR. WOW. That would be real nice, but I'll still take my MR with non adjustable height and bilsteins.

that's not a factory option, there was a thread on this awhile ago in the suspension forum... I'll see if I can find it.

You can't just take the UK price and convert it to US and expect that to be the price

They will be around 33-35k to compete with the STI. Not including any dealer markups that could reach higher prices though. Im getting mine for MSRP though

totally true, i mean we're talking about two different economies with two different competitive environments, hence the difference int he pricing structure.
