Because without them the car only generates 6 KG of downforce (a trivial amount). 2 KG of downforce isn't going to do much.

The 1.1% reduction in drag is probably a bigger deal.

 

Assuming they were available here, the main benefit is that by being Mitsu parts installed by the dealer, they should be covered under warranty. Of course, when Mitsu voids your warranty the first time you bring it in, it really doesn't make much of a difference.
