my big **** fits snug into the UK recaro seat...sometimes the side bolster is a bit of a pain on the lower thigh area. As for Torque being proportional to HP...it's not always the case, as if you look at the WRC, the cars are limited to 300bhp, but the Torque figures are hitting nearly 700Nm..mmm
I understand what you are saying about the Rally Cars, but that is sort of special situation, and often not the case for street cars. I mean many people who EVOs here, don't experience lopsided power gains like that here. Plus the EVO MR has a bigger turbo, and I'm just confused on why only a 5-9 HP gain, what is the Euro version of the MR HP rating?
Horsepower = Torque * RPM / 5252
so if torque goes up but peaks lower in the rpm range you won't have as big a jump in hp, etc. simple math. this is also how most dynos work, by measuring torque and then extrapolating hp.

I don't believe this subject....I don't understand wanting to purchase a vehicle that is leagues ahead of just about anything shy of six figures in the cornering/handling department and the big debate is how quick is it in the quarter mile?......a straight run
On the 03 Evo by far the most impressive qualties IMO is the chassis poise, the telepathic steering and the brakes all of which work a lot better on the MR but are not used on a dragstrip....what a waste

Yeah I believe the HP rating is only around 276-280, but the TQ has went up to 295. This brings up a question I have, how can HP go up so low but TQ go up so high, aren't the two inner-related, if TQ goes up by 22, wouldn't HP see the same or atleast close to same increase? Therefore, the lower the RPM that you reach max torque, the lower the HP/TQ ratio. For an engine that reaches max torque at 5252 RPMs, they would be equal.

HP= 273 x 3500RPM/5252 and I get 181.9306, and that makes no sense, even if it is meant at the wheels, it's still low. Am I doing it correctly?
