"Hands down. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is the most potent, meanest machine to come from Japan. Ever."

I think they like it...

I read this exact article like 4 months ago at the supermarket. I wonder why they are saying it is new.

I remember this line word for word:

But, it turned out, they were very tight-lipped, saying only, "Fast car, very fast. Maybe too fast for you, heh heh heh."

I like the idea of the HKS Rally-spec Evolution. Up to near 400 bhp.

SwissEvo's right too. Read this artical about a month ago, then realized the car is a Japan spec, just flipped photos, look at the deadpedal placement! What's up with the US spec MR? Is Mitsu gonna fold before it even gets here?

Pretty sure it was mirrored, because the footrest is on the right side of the pedals, apparntly the car goes fast enough you don't need your foot on the gas, you can just rest it

I also read this article before but the numbers are still quite impressive. 4.3 0-60 and high 12's for quarter mile thats insane fast... Sure would be nice if we could get that version here and for the 33k that they said it was priced as tested would that be terrific.

Why do you guys believe that the Jap Spec MR will be so different than the US Version, I mean I haven't really seen anything OFFICIAL claiming it won't have a power increase just like the JDM version, why is everybody being so pessimistic about the MR?

The Japanese spec Evo is probably equivalent to the FQ320 (maybe the FQ340) in England. The gentleman's agreement probably applies to the evo in Japan (hence the 280 listed hp). Therefore, it's likely that the evo MR we'll be getting will be a tad slower. It just doesn’t seem all that plausible that a 10hp increase will give a ~7/10 of a second reduction in the 0-60 time and 1/2 of a second in the 1/4 mile, respectively. In addition, the trap speed appears to increase by 4-6 mph when compared to the USDM Evo.

I really don't think that is possible. Just the FQ-320 comes with an aftermarket Exhaust (a pretty serious one too) and an HKS hard pipe, as well as ecu tweaking. These are performance changes that are definently not on JDM MR. JDM isn't everything, the gentlemen's agreement needs to be revised. UK gets the best evos in the world, also the most expensive by far...
