Oh well I'm off to the track to have some fun and read my magazines between sessions.

It just annoyed me when someone is calling people cheap skates and welfare recepient, yet he/she is driving some POSs. And driving on the tracking is not that big of a deal. First, track day is cheap. Second, "driving" on track is not that technical. Third, its boring and slow paced.
"MR Edition"
It sounds like Subaru has fixed the understeer in the 2005 STi by increasing wheels (7.5" -> 8") and hub size (100mm -> 114mm), adding yaw control, changing the front LSD, and doing some suspension tweaking. To compete with it, the MR...er, MR Edition (sorry) should have the AYC (which it doesn't), should have another score or so HP (which it doesn't), should have a much improved interior (which it doesn't), and should cost well under $32K, which is the going price for a nicely loaded 2005 STi (including decent audio system and climate control). Granted, the seats are much nicer in the Evo, but until someone gets both the USDM MR Edition and the USDM 2005 STi on the same track at the same time, there's no telling which will be the better performer and at what.

The '05 STi does not have "yaw control" in the sense that overseas Evos do. It has a "yaw sensor" but doesn't say exactly what is done with it. There are no active front or rear diffs, so it would not be the equivalent of AYC. It is likely used for EBD and "Sport" ABS functions. Also, the increased hub size would have no direct effect on the handling balance of the car, it is to fix the pad knockback and hub deflection problems that the STi has.
Getting rid of the viscous front diff, and replacing it with a proper helical diff probably fixed a lot of the understeer though!
