I know a psychotic senator from Georgia who would agree with you.

Back on topic..
What on earth is taking so long for the official MSRP to come out?! I've never followed a car's production as much as I've followed the MR's. Is it normal for it to take this long and to run this close to arrival on the show room floors??

No its not normal, which is why its pissing me off. Usually we would have already had the MSRP's by now.

I remember when the STis were coming out, the MSRP was out waaaaaay in advance of the actual release date. Makes you wonder if mitsubishi is doing this just to hurt potential STi sales, for people who would care less about brand but are looking at the STi or EVO MR ..... make em wait for the MSRP, so that if they are not buying MRs they are not buying STis either. B@$t@rd$!

For all of you that have pre-ordered. Is this a blind purchase for you or is the price a secret? I would never sign a contract for a vehicle like this without knowing the price.

Sort of like the guys that paid the 10k mark-up, except they knew they were getting screwed. Mitsu is just sitting back and laughing I guess.

I think the best way to hurt Subaru sales would be to keep people thinking the price is $35,000+ then announce something lower, say $33,000 or something. Perhaps: 1 - Originally announcing the MR for $33k would make people wait and not purchase a Subaru; 2 - First magazines tests will make people wait due to test superior test results even it could cost more and Subaru prices will stay higher. 3 – Actual lower MSRP will make people buy in a market where STI prices are not depressed already.

did that when announcing the pricing on the 2003 EVO at it’s debuted at whatever auto show. I recall reading the Subaru camp quite surprised by the price, but only slightly dismayed since they had and Ace (read: 2.5L engine) up their sleeve. Same account said it looked like someone simultaneously kicked every attending employee in the gonads when they heard the news about the additional displacement.

I have only placed a deposit. In California deposits must be refunded if the sale does not go through.

i love how mitsubishi usually releases cars before they update their website. but, in this case, its the other way around, but with no price.

here's an idea... PUT THE CAR ON THE SITE FIRST! MARKET IT! ADVERTISE IT LIKE SMART NORMAL COMPANIES! CREATE ANTICITPATION! THEN! and only then, release the car.

i thought this was common knowledge! its like releasing a movie and THEN advertising for weeks later.

Cool.

Just went by my dealership and they have ordered one already. When it gets here I will look it over.

There are 100's of MR threads going on. I just want to know if the drivetrain is going to be interchangeable with the '04 Evolution. I am not all that excited about the 6 speed, but the ACD sounds great.

Love it,...but sticking with the original Evo8 hardcore version feels better to me. The MR is like the yuppie tuner car kinda...oh well. Awesome though, no doubt. ;-)

I've been wondering the same thing - alot of the theories don't seem to add up.

Like - what's the sense holding out on the Sti with such a limited production run car?

Maybe they haven't set a fixed MSRP yet?! - a bit late in the game for that!

Anyway - I believe we can narrow it down to within $1,000.

It's around $34,000 give or take $1,000.

Most of us that put early deposits got MSRP in writing. Plus other specific conditions that we negotiated

So at this point I'm willing to bet in the range $33,500 to $34,500

I second that last post. I think they probably know that alot of us already have the EVO 8, and after hearing some say, nah I'll stick with mine it might not be in there best interest to shoot for a high MSRP. I could be wrong, but listen the EVO 8 really ony goes after a certain market. People like us who like speed, performance, and upgradeability. (mods, exhaust, EMS, etc...)
Because some might say that for that money. I'll just got buy a G35. Yes it won't be all wheel drive, but they don't care.
Just my two cents. I think it would be a smart descision to sell the MR anywhere between $33,500 to $34,800

I gotta stop reading these posts about the MR. First the EVO have leather...now the MR is coming with ACD and 6 speed. What's next? The FQ's will probably be coming as well. But I still love my Evo. Just that I wanted leather, 6 speed, and ACD. Well, I guess my EVO is just as good and less costly maintenance I suppose
