Breakdown of MR Features. Pricing Comparison.

Base 04 Evo MSRP: $29,995
Base 05 Evo MSRP: ???

Price of 04 Options comparable with MR "standard options":

Floor Mats : $65 (MR gets MR edition floor mats)

Door Sill Scuff Plate: $92 (MR gets MR door sill scuff plate)

Insturment Cluster Surround: $75

Shift Knob: $113

Parking Brake Grip: $220

Sports Meter Kit: $464

Sports Pedals: $76

Wheel Locks: $25

Total cost of Options: $1130

Not sure what Front Air Dam was but it is a $231 option. Didn't include in total.

2005 Options standard on MR:

HID + Fog Lamps: $???

MR Features: Vortex Roof Spoiler, Aluminum Roof, Bilstein Shocks, BBS Wheels (Over $800 a peice), 6spd with different clutch, Other misc MR interior/exterior touches: $$ What’s it worth to you?

I'm not sure that all of us understand everything that the MR Edition comes with. Alot of what will be payed for isn't necessarily performance oriented. With the HIDs, we'll probably have about $2000 worth of (::cough:: overpriced::cough:: ) options standard with the package. Making it a fairly loaded vehicle compared with the base GSR (and STI imho ). Performance adders or not, they'll still add to the cost. Not having an MSRP for the MR, I cannot say if it will be worth it or not. But I think these need to be taken into account when making that assumption. I hope you will.

All info was taken from Mitsu Press Statements, Pictures & Order forms. Please feel free to make any corrections and please back those corrections up with a pic/article etc.etc..

actually, if you look at the interior pic on the MITSU website, the MR does have a CD player... unclear if 6cd player, though

You guys remember the spec sheets/order form things that someone posted a long time ago? I believe that is where it said the MR came with the 6 disc changer & 160 watt system. I'm sure Evo Neil would know.

Westsidebilly.. Were you asking if I thought they would cost that much or stating thats what they usually go for? Sorry, the face thing at the end kind of through me off.
I know HIDs aren't cheap. Seeing how they charge $220 for the brake grip, it probably wouldn't surprise me if they're that much.

If the MR does sticker for around $35K, I'm really not dissapointed. It was what I originally anticipated all along.

I really expected closer to 34k, but I won't be dissapointed either. Asthetics aside, it is coming with more than I expected.

I am pretty sure it isn't going to come with a 6 disc changer. The question you have to ask yourself.....where are they going to put it? The 3-gauge cluster already takes up the only area it can go. We would have to have a double DIN opening to make it fit.....but our lousy heater-A/C controls are in the way of that idea.

Ok, thanks guys for clearing up the 6 disc changer.

I scratched it off the list. Went back and checked out the options sheet, it was an error on my part.
Still not sure if the front air dam is something we're charged for or not? It's listed on the mitsu build your own page as an option.

Guess that adds the question of what does it look like in a Sun & Sound '04 VIII?

That's paying dealer markup + dealer installation costs?

Doesn't surprise me that the HIDs are expensive, I figured they were at least $350 each, $700 total ... or more. The CF spoiler is $700+ ... Brembo rotors, calipers, pads... $$$ ... the Enkei wheels ... the bucket seats, ... the list goes on and on... everything on the car is expensive with the exception of the CD player

since the HIDs are optional, can i just add them seperately rather than buying the whole sun, sound, package thing? or would i have to buy the package to get the HID? cuz i really want those HID's. kinda dissappointed that they made it optional
