Utec Maps For Australian 98 octane Fuel

HI guys,

Im just installing a Utec on my evo8 in Australia, and am having difficulty adjusting the maps to suit the 98octane fuel.

Currently i have a full 3inch exhaust and FMIC and K&N intake, anyone care to offer some advice or suggested maps?

Cheers

Shane

cause i suck at tuning :-( seem to be getting knocking all over the place, i actually lost power across the whole rev range. Ive had to reduce the timing from the standard maps that came with the utec. Especially at 3000rpm

Thats really odd, but 98 RON fuel isn't much different than 94 octane in some respects..

Start by running lower boost, see if the knock is boost related or racket from some components in your engine

Which K&N Intake (Typhoon??) some of the intakes throw off the readings enough that the stage2 tune needs alot of fuel at low RPM through midrange, and then a bit of fuel through redline. Once you get your AFR's down then you can focus on restoring your timing..

You might actually also be having trouble with bad gas from the station you frequent.
