New Dyno Resutls via UTEC Tune

I got my car dynoed yesterday and it made 310whp on 91 Pump gas and it made 350whp on 96-97 Gas. It was a blend of 5 Gallons of Race gas and 1 Gallon on 91 Pump Gas

Car was tuned via UTEC on a 4wd Dyno

Just wanted to compare my dyno results, if they are consistent.

Thanks

If I recall those numbers were really close to the Data Log Lab estimates we made a while back, weren't they?

I think so, it was realy close...

Do you think that the gains I made is just right for my current setup of mods?

What other mods do you think I can bolt on to reach at least 380whp?

Thanks MalibuJack

Just wanted to let everyone know that with boost solutions gone in atlanta, some people are having a hard time finding awd dyno and tuners. Just wanted to say that I took my car to "Knowledge performance." They are in Kenessaw GA. They dyno tuned my utec on their awd dyno. You should go check out the shop if you are near there. They have some nice project cars up there including a 550 whp wrx with sti block, and they always have stuff in stock for our evo's I know you can find stuff cheaper online, but everyone knows you buy stuff spur of the moment.

Really? I haven't put much faith in the DLL dyno thingie, other than to see relative changes when tuning. Were you using 3rd gear pulls and what weight/dyno settings? Maybe my car is making more power than I think it is...peak TQ on the DLL still seems low to me, but I log/tune mostly on the same damn slight uphill grade.

Archie, nice job. I have very similar mods and would be curious to see your pump gas map (or log) if you care to share it. I think mine is pretty decent, but I always like to compare to others....especially if there are dyno charts to back them up cuz I haven't been on one yet

What boost did you end up running? I think if your running race gas, you probably can get away with a bit more boost to bring you close to 380, I think at this point you have to identify additional restrictions, Throttlebody might be a good start, header, 10.5 turbine housing, O2 housing maybe.. That should get you close to that target..

Yeah the peak torque seems low to me too.. But one thing I noticed is his mods are similar to mine at the time I was doing alot of tuning with DLL a few months ago and the pump gas numbers in DLL are damn close to that... IT just seems that reducing restrictions seems to have a greater net effect in the scheme of things than just the mod itself.

The boost is set at 23.5psi tapering down to 20 - 21 psi by redline.

Any ideas on how to bring up the torque curve?

Thanks Again

Yeah, I've tried every which way to increase peak TQ numbers (including going to a 264/264), but the most I've seen yet in DLL is about 325. It usually hangs around 317ish...guess I'll just need to work on increasing/flattening the curve over all.

DLL is like 5HP/TQ "close" or like 15?

Well, in my air box test (with/without) I had to swap from the RMR filter to a PE filter. It took about 2 logs before I noticed that my peak MAF readings were down almost 100Hz. Not written in stone, but an indicator of flow none the less. I am not really sure if it is the filter or the cast adapter (leaning more towards this). On the RMR, I was closing in on 2000Hz (1965-1980) and I have all I can do to crack 1900 now. I am going to see if there is a way to make the RMR filter kit work with the Apex box and see what happens. Just to clarify: I am not knocking the Apex box/PE fitler, DLL dyno #s are not noticeably diff between the two filters after tuning regardless of change in MAS readings...

Well, its like comparing any other dyno.. but as long as you get your corrections right, you should be around 10whp/tq to a dynojet with similar corrections.
