I installed the Utec at Harman in torrance. Everything is good but i notice my Service engine light is on. when i got home i reset my ECU ( disconnect the - of the battery ) then the service light is off, but when i reline it to test it out, the service engine light is stay on again ( not flashing ). Anyone know what's wrong? THanks

Did you try to hook up a scan tool to get the code? If not, try this first to see what you are working with. Once you get the code, let everyone know so the problem can be dealt with.

Actually you need to hook up to the OBDII plug. I believe you can go to any local autoparts store and find out from them. Usually they (autoparts store) have the scan tool available to use. The problem is without the code, your kinda dead in the water on the troubleshooting. I hope this helps somewhat.

If I had to guess. It maybe the p0300 misfire code. I get that all the time now. It occured around 1000rpms or so, well at least thats the info that was generated on the OBDII scan tool. Or if you went to an aftermarket intake, it could be a system too lean code. I had one of those to.

It was Code P0234 (Over boost)

actually i got the SES light the week before i install the Utec. the SES light was on one day and it gone the next day. After i installed the UTEC, it light on again. I was never boost higher than 22psi on Utec. Anyone know have any other idea what went wrong?

Usually an overboost condition according to the MAF sensor is a sudden very high spike in MAF reading, since our cars don't have a true MAP sensor, we don't have any true measure of boost that the ECU is aware of, however if the maf reading is high for the RPM or engine load your running, it will trigger that light..

If you have the HKS EVC5, you would likely need to reduce the "attack" of the boost curve a bit at part throttle and WOT at rpm's below 3500rpm.. That should help a little...
