Post Map sensor Calibration

I just installed Map sensor with my UTEC
it's T in between the Fuel regulator and the intakemanifold.

seems the reading is not very consistant.
if I turn the key and start the car right up sometimes it will read -18.8 PSI at idle
and if I turn the key to IGNATION and wait 5 seconds than start the car most of the time it will be around -8.4 psi..

and sometimes it reads 0 psi at first disregard if I start the car fast or wait 5 second.
than after 3-5mins it will become -8.4 at idle.

can someone explain why :-(

Yes list your values you put in and how you factored them. make sure to include the unit you used as well.

Sounds like its not the sensor, but where you tapped to get your vacuum signal..

FWIW if you have a GM sensor, and fairly short wiring (under 3 feet) the stock calibration on the UTEC should already be close.

I'm using the Turbo XS sensor
it's 12 inchs away from the T source
I used Stock calibration. 204
244

I was thinking first it was also where I got the Vacum source.
but I have my boost guage also running off the T and it does not have this problem.

I noticed mine also shows weird readings sometimes and that's why I switched to gauge display instead of atmo to confirm. Having a boost gauge in kPa doesn't help either. Too many variables and really hard to calibrate on your own. I wish Turbo-XS included both Psi and kPa (or bar) toggle-able switch in the turer settings. Mine is also off by a little on stock calibration #s but in some cases it shows completely weird number and like it's said above I think it depends on how you start the car.

tks for your feed back.

question that comes to my mind now is that how will the close lop boost function
if you start the car too fast. For me it's not possible to always have a Laptop connected to the UTEC and I will not know if the MAP sensor is reading correct or not.

what will happen if the Map sensor reading is at -16 PSI at idel and the true reading is -8 PSI at idle just because you didn't wait 2-3 min to start the car. and I guess I will be out of luck if I use MAP as a Load reference and I will overboost and encounter some serious lean conditions

Anyone's advise is welcome

tks
