I did some more tuning today.
Now I'm pushing 24.7psi peak slowly dropping to 21. I haven't changed timing, but the ECU column under timing (UCC datalogger) is higher than my modified timing. This idicates to me, I can add more.
Anyway, 24.7psi on 91 octane with no knock.....gotta love it.
The methanol costs me $4.05 a gal, distilled H2O is $.79 a gal, so it's costing me about $3.75 to fill my resevour. It lasts right for 2 tanks of gas. For under $2.00 per tank I'm getting the performance of running $5 a gal race gas!!!
Everybody should be using water/methanol injection.

Is there any failsafes with this kit like a buzzer, or some way of knowing if flow has stopped? Is there different jet sizes that need to be played with, or just one standard size? Where did you tap the jet, on the Ic pipe right before the throttle body? Lastly how long did it take you to get the kit in?

I am moving from Ny to Az in 2 weeks or so, and i have been really thinking about WI since i am spoiled by our 93.. i was looking at aquamist, and buscher's but am keeping my options open.. I probally wont buy a kit untill i get out there.. However my wife is already out there with the evo..haha

On my Aquamist 2D water injection installation, I utilized the fault code system built into its computer to shut off my Profec B boost controller if there is a problem. You could hook up a light also to make you aware of a problem. I also have different jet sizes to fine tune my particuliar set up.

How much of a ***** is it to get it to shut off the boost controller? I have a blitz sbc-id and would want that to shut off in case of a failure so i would just run off of my 1bar tial gate..

WHat was the total install time? Did you just drill and tap the ic pipe for the jet, or does it need to be welded?

Sent you a PM. Didn't want to hijack bishiboy's thread.

I wish there are more people out here reading your post - the results you are getting is a good indication of how effective water injection is and allows you to run great "CLEAN" power with very little running cost. I wonder how long it will take the stubborn tuners to incorporate this 50-year old concept.

As you are slowly refining you tune, wouldn't it be easier to get some upgrade to your WI system so that it can alter the flow rate rather than tuning your ignition and fuel map to it. Investing on some WI fault monitoring device onto your existing system is worthwhile now that you know the concept works.

Yeah, Snowperformance selld a progressive controller to increase pump voltage as boost rises. I have passive fault detection, flow indicator, low fluid level indicator, blocked jet indicator.
I have my Utec knock detection sensitivity increased and amount of retard increased.
