Definitely add a bit of fuel.. I run 12.5 on my race tune, definitely dangerous and will damage parts eventually.. 11.5 is about the leanest I would go on pump gas, 11.0 on 91 octane.. Alot of this is also dependent on your timing since there is an interrelationship there.. But you should be either turning down your boost to 20psi, or adding fuel across the board until you hit 11.0-11.5

NO BULLSHYT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL! BUT 15 @ low throttle is cool for highway use mine is about 15 @ 3000 =70mph i get about 30MPG! as the RPMS go up then more full is added

I don't see where anyone saw 15:1.. but that is part throttle closed loop cruise.. you get great fuel economy.. where there's very little load.

Here's a mildly-related question...

I have targeted 11.2-11.3 on my street tune. But I've been thinking that in the lower load sites, maybe it could be a bit leaner?

I looked at my old logs when my car was stock, and it looks like the AFR's taper from about 13.5 at 10%, to 12.2 @ 20%, then 11.5 from 30% to 60%, and 11.0 from 70% on.

So my question is, what is everyone doing with their AFR's in the lower load sites, say 10 to 30%? Are you targeting the same AFR across the board and adding timing to compensate? If not, what AFR are you shooting for in the lower loads?

Here's what I was thinking:

10% 13.5
20% 12.5
30% 12.0
40-60% 11.5
70%+ 11.3

Sorry for the thread hijack, but Luke WL may get some help from this also.

You have a good point.. When your at peak boost, you want to keep it rich enough so you don't do damage, even lower boost levels you want to maintain a fairly rich AFR.. At low load sites, you can run leaner and will get much better gas mileage and part throttle drivability (it won't feel muddy when it transitions into open loop) when I cross over from closed loop to open loop, I go from 14.7 (closed oop) to 13.5 then as it hits the higher load sites it quickly goes richer.

So is there an easy way to add fuel all accross the board? Because Im running about 14.8 on partial throttle cruizing speed... or do I have to go in and add fuel at individual levels....how would I do this?

Get the UCC program, I'll try and find the link.

EDIT: Here's the link:

http://norcalevo.net/ucc/ucc-current.zip

Just save it and install. Personally it's easier to use and see during tuning but I don't think you can change the parameters like TPS threshold, inj scaling and whatnot.

Hopefully this helps

14.7 or so is normal for cruising around.. No need to change that (and not really possible to change either) but UCC is a good tool to use..

So i set up the UCC, can I just add fuel all arround or only at wot? I saw it had the fuel settings change, can I highlight it all and bump it up a few %'s?

Luke,

Post your mods to get better assistance. In addition, how do you know what your AFRs are? I didn't see a WB column in your log. The check engine light flashing is NOT a good thing. It is the UTEC telling you that you have knock. Look at your logs for knock and at least back down your timing in those map cells. If you have an AFR readout, check your AFRs and based on the result, add fuel if needed.

The utec dosent show any knock...
mods are
Perrin Intake
Walrbo 255
Turbo back catless
Utec (with stage 2 map)
Turbo XS wideband tuner
Turbo XS RBV bov

I dont have the knock sensor for the Utec or does it just use the stock one? That might be why it wasnt reading it. The wideband tuner is where I got my a/f .

To modify your map on UCC you need to download your map from the UTEC and then and fuel in the "fuel monitor" The is a way to select all colums and then hit the + and it will add .1 fuel to every box that was selected.

The logs you need is the ones that have the WBO2 reading

Edit: Do you have the switch installed? If not what map are you running.
