Luke is rice! Just kidding

god its been forever since i've been on here...

my evo was one of the first stage 2 evo's out there, and its still out there running 21psi and this Air fuel ratio. Never had a problem, and the current owner hasnt either.

Too bad that picture sucks, can't really see anything but the slope looks decent.

too much boost will also lean your afr.
under parameter file/map is where you adjust your
tps voltage to reflect your tps to read 100% at wot.

turboxs recommends 11~11.4 at redline for evo's
and that is around 22~23psi of boost...

Luke is being tuned for 21 psi and 19psi at redline, we are going for 11.8 at redline and 12.5 during the rest of the band. My personal car has been stage 2 for longer then anyone here. obviously it was serial # 21 for utecs, and i had the first turboback besides a turboxs test car. They even asked for my map before stage 2 was even invented. (i love turboxs! they rule!) anyway, my car is still out there running the same way. I'd say its safe to call it safe...Luke has been listening to the internet, and now you have all filled his head with whatever he's read.
So listen to them, or listen to us..its all good. But i know ur car will make more power then if your tuning for 11.4 the whole way like your telling us. You can be more lean then that throughout the entire powerband and come down as it hits redline, thats what it should be. Can someone else tell him that, because obviously he doesnt believe me.

Oh crap luke, yeah that must be too lean, i mean considering you spent lets see $3000 plus your evo...and you just spanked a Lotus Espirit V8 Twin turbo from a stop twice and got 3 cars on him by 100 Good driving!

I'll back you up on your fuel curve being leaner than what most recommend.. I do run fairly lean on my car, but I just can't recommend it to others since my car is happy with it, but others get all sorts of detonation when running a bit leaner. Also, AFR and Timing are somewhat interdependent so with it richer, you can run a bit more timing advance and in theory, produce even more power.. But I generally agree with what you said, simply because I do the same thing.

Heck, this time last year, most people thought it wasn't safe to run over 21psi of boost on pump 93 octane.. A good tune is one with headroom.. If you tune too close to the edge, thats when you can do damage..

FWIW the stage2 map is pretty conservative from a timing standpoint.. on my car, the AFR's are too rich, but its my blowthrough MAF curve affecting that...
