its just a regular 9pin M - 9pin F cable.. same type of cable you would use to connect a modem...

Or just go to Office depot and get a Null Modem cable.

This is incorrect.. Its not a null modem cable... ITs just basically a modem/PDA extension cable.. 9pin din Male, to 9pin din female..

A nullmodem cable will not work at all..

I think I have a few extras around the house, I'll run outside and see if they work with the UTEC. BRB.

I am using a Null Modem cable just fine. Its a DB9 cable that says NULL MODEM on the ends of the cable.

It isnt wired as a null modem then.. a null modem cable is used to connect two computers together.. usually its a DB9F to DB9F.. The cable he needs is just a run of the mill 9 pin cable.. you were lucky because either your cable is correct regardless, or the serial interface your using recognizes it.. (there are some rare USB to Serial adapters which can do it)
