Apex-i boost controller and PFC

I'm trying to determine if the Power FC has boost control capabilities or does it require a separate EBC device?? I know the stock ECU can control boost (e.g. Ecutek tune), but I'm curious if PFC has this capability or does it require an EBC for boost control. It seems the running price for the PFC D-Jetro with the commander is $1500+, and I'd like to know if this includes the Apex-i boost controller?!?! Any information is much appreciated.

Yes it can contol boost. I'm not sure if you can use the stock boost control solenoid though. You may have to get the apex-i solenoid.

so the Apex-i Boost control kit looks like it retails for $389. Should this be included in the approx $1500 value for the PFC D-Jetro and commander or would the $389 be in addition to? I'm just trying to figure out how much I should be paying for the whole package.

The boost control kit I've tried with the stock turbo and doesn't work very well but works great with external wastegate.

From what I have heard, especially in the RX7 community is that the boost control kit for the PFC really sucks. That said...their AVC-R is really really pimp, and is what I use...but its a lot more money

Well that would be right then.... I am new here, Howdy all. New to Mitsi, and have never had a RX7.. but have had a PFC with Datalogit and WB02 for two years.

The solenoid in both kits are the same. In my experience the PFC driven Apexi solenoid works great. It controls boost with no spikes and a dead flat graph line relative to your setting. With datalogit the added advantage of a dashboard "press to pass" switch that toggles between two settings. I do not know enough yet about the std Mitsi setup (yet), but the EBCkit with PFC is seamless and works fine. Obviously you need a capable turbo and engine capable of accepting your new settings.
For my money, plug and play PFC/EBC is a proven performer and cost effective option. Data-logit does not make it Motec - but motec is not a competitor apples for apples.

When we get IX's in Oz, I hope Apexi has a MIVEC ready PFC to go, cos I will be wanting one.

Ciao

I have the boost solenoid and I'm trying to figure out what the two settings to the right of the boost setting are all about. It ran perfect when I had a T-67 on it but now it seems like the boost comes on really slowly, what gives?

Not sure QAT-R, but with the AVC-R you can "precharge" the duty % to give you more responsiveness per gear. A lot of times you will reach redline in lower gears before full boost is applied, but with the AVC-R you can up the duty cycle based on gearing to achieve full boost faster.

Does the PFC setup with the silenoid do this?
