well got my Utec installed and now i seem to have a lean running evo anyone know of setting to set fuel air ratio to to get the mixture right getting alot of ping now so back to map 0 till i can figure it out any help would be sweet
You need to list all of your mods before anyone can make an attempt to help.
You will also need to state what your target numbers (afr) are so that this adjustment can be stated as well.
FWIW I just did a global -6 adjustment and worked from there. Granted these are for my mods, and my method of tuning.

You better tune it with a wideband.... it's been said enough. I have a Perrin boost tube with Apexi filter. I installed them at different time and I had to tune the fuel quite a bit to compensate the change in air velocity. And yes, it was big enough to cause lean conditions in some area and rich condition in different area because you will be traveling through some different load site than before. Good luck!

Well just got home from the tuner and she seems to be running quite abit better still getting a knock around 2500 at freeway speeds here is the mod list

if the AFR looks good from your dyno chart, try to retard timing in the area that you knock. But at 2500, most likely you were flooring it in 5th. The engine takes a lot of load when boosting up high at this low RPM range. If you don;t get knocks unless you flooring it, I would just leave it alone. Try to reatrd a degree or two if it bothers you too much.
ok cool its like when in 5th gear and i want to pass a car between 2800-3300 rpm ill knock but it does not knock when i downshift to 4th and then pass a car so ill check timing but i think it might be fuel too since the perrin short ram gives so much air to the turbo and the boost tube seems to lean out the fuel mix maybe ill get this figured out or ill have to put on the factory air box and start over

at 2800 rpm to 3200 rpm at 30% throttle i get the knocks they seem to clear up with more throttle but ill be logging later tonight had to borrow a laptop from a friend to do this ill post the log tommorow night after i get home from work at 3:00 am PST you can let me know what i need to change then thanks in advance to any that helped me
The boost curve in 5th gear is much different than lower gears, so you likely are ending up in cells that you may not typically have hit or tuned before.. Also, 30% throttle is just at the cusp of transitioning closed to open loop fueling, so making minor adjustments to the transition point, and the 10% column for your timing/fueling in the lower rpm load cells will help alot.
ok question about tempature of when i tuned the car for all out 1/4 it was 80deg will i have to make a new map for when its 70 and 60 too or are those within the same heat tuning or what and ill have the log for ya to look at later tonight friend never came in with his laptop so ya can see whats going on when im in 5th gear and i get madd knocks
Ya know, I run closed loop boost control and my AFR's are always pretty consistent so I never noticed what you guys experienced.. Or at least I never caught a huge difference.

Without knowing what boost or AFR the car is at that moment, its hard to tell.. But in both locations where you see knock, your timing map appears to jump at least 3 degrees or so, which is enough to trigger the knock sensor.. Looks like your going to have to try to smooth the timing a bit in those areas.
