Where should I mount my wideband o2 sensor

Ive looked around and head the closer to the cat the better and also heard the closer to the turbo the better. Even saw something about replacing the OEM o2 and moving the stock one back a lil to the new bung. Also heard to mount above horizontal plane, but I cant really see why. SO where did you mount yours and where should I mount mine

If I were doing it over again, I'd put it at the very end of the downpipe at the 12 o'clock position and run the wire through the existing hole/grommet there. There's a post on here somewhere from someone with the screenname Ludikraut (or something like that) showing this sort of install with pictures.

Is there any specific reason for so far away from the turbo? It seems like the closer the better and the farther away the more time some of the unburnt fuel would have time to burn up.

I dunno, IM just throwing things out there doing research and gathering opinions.

Anyone have any bad experiences with it close to the turbo?

For accuracy a WB needs tight temperature regulation so you want it far enough down stream where the exhaust is a little cooler and the heater control circuitry can be in charge. They can also be damaged by very high temps.

In a rich mixture there's practically no oxygen left so the excess fuel can't burn. Even if it did you're trying to measure the AFR of the mixture and exactly when it burned doesn't really matter.
