A foot or 2 down the length of the downpipe at the 9 or 3 o'clock position is the most common way.

at the end of the downpipe or use the existing bung in the catback if you are not using a rear o2 sensor.

This is where mine is about a 2:00 position and harness goes nicely through grommet there in the tunnel

A weld-in M18 X 1.5 boss is supplied for sensor installation. Mount the O2 sensor in the
exhaust system at least 18 inches downstream from the exhaust port
. If you anticipate
high EGT's (over 800C), run a turbocharger, run at high RPM for extended periods of
time or plan on running leaded race fuel then you must mount the sensor at least 36
inches or more downstream of the exhaust port as all of these can cause the sensor to
overheat.
On turbocharged engines the UEGO sensor must be installed after the
turbo charger, if not, the pressure differential will greatly affect the accuracy of
the unit
. For accurate readings, the sensor must be mounted before catalytic
converters and/or auxiliary air pumps. To prevent collection of liquids between the
sensor housing and sensor element during the cold start phase, the installation angle
should be inclined at least 10° from horizontal with the electrical connection upwards,

see below.

From Page 8 of the instructions.......36 inches......

Down pipe is the best spot but the easiest for running the wires is to put it in the cat back. There is a grommet right under the seat. Run the wire right out that grommet and weld a bung in the cat back right next to the grommet.

I would say right where all of them should be, right at the firewall where its recommended from most companys. 10 and 2 pending on how much room you have. Mine is at 10 and 2 depending on how you look at it on the car.

Straight from Zeitronics.

Recommended installation requires welding the O2 sensor bung in the down pipe at least 16" away from the turbo. The oxygen sensor must be positioned vertically (wires pointing upwards between 10 and 2 o’clock) to prevent damage to the sensor’s ceramic heating element and protect sensor against water condensation

Like said above if you look under the car near where the down pipe connects to the cat you will see a grommet that goes to the passenger seat side in the center console. Pretty good place to put it is at the 3 o'clock position there. Don't go too high or you won't be able to easily put in the sensor with the downpipe still attached.

I welded in the bung in the almost 12 o'clock position right behind the engine, right behind the passenger side inner axle cup. The wiring harness is straight up and i put it through the gromet behind the glove box right behind the passenger strut tower. In my opinion it turned out perfect.

Yeah if you like changeing o2 sensors every few 1000 miles. Ugeo sensors aren't made to go in stock location. There is a reason they tell you 36" away.

I'll get up under there and track down that grommet.

Thanks.
