Yes. Exactly this. Theres tons of space if you mount it in the 12oclock position there. I mounted it at 2oclock though cause it was easier to just pull the downpipe down and weld it, instead of removing the downpipe completely.

And for the rubber grommet, the one mentioned in the how-to is not used by anything which is great. But you can just put a slit in it from the edge to the middle, and slide the wideband wire into it. That way you still have a seal around the wire and won't get water and crap in your carpet.
