Is UTEC really all that limiting?

WWooowwww some vendors can be real jerks huh?
Why would you ever talk to a potenial customer that way and talk that way on a forums that you support?
THE AEM and UTEC are both very nice peices However MAX power isnt always the case at hand Tuning and drivability. and keep this in mind, A tune is only as good as the person tuning it. Odviously some places are going to have there own preferrerance on what they like to use and how well they can use it.
So my 2 cents? Take what people have to say on not just this forums but anyforum for what its worth, do place your faith in ONE persons knowledge. do your research
Wow what a thread so far. I have a few questions for Precision. It seems that you love using the AEM and the Ecutek, what do you feel are the disadvantages of both of these systems? I already know that the AEM isn't OBD-II and won't be. We all have learned that the ECU is not limited by the MAF, it's limited by the amount of people that are that knowledgeable about it. I have sold my UTEC and went with a maftpro set-up and I must say I do like it, nothing like the utec but still the same in a way. Although it's not a new product, it's new to the Evo community unless you want to figure in the HKS VPC (i think not sure of the actual name) Once the maftpro gets a little more refined, Im sure that it will far exceed my expectations.
AEM is a nice product, never been in a car with one since there is only one in the area. I have played with the software with the demo and it seems so involved it scares a lot of people into buying either A. something cheaper or B. something they can learn easily. I am by no means a great tuner but I think I did fairly well with the utec and have tuned other peoples car locally to me for them (need to charge next time) haven't had a complaint yet. But since I am a person of very little patience and too many questions and the lack of knowledge of the system in my general area, that is what limits my AEM experience.

oh btw they are now shipping the regular MAF translator that will allow you to convert to a blow-through setup fairly easily. This would be a perfect upgrade for you guys wanting to keep UTEC and are fed up with the stock MAF.

Might need to give fullthrottle a call because it is not showing up on their site. Mike said they were in stock so go get them
