"Base" map on an 05

I've had the UTEC installed and on the "0" map for a few days now. Downloaded the TurboXS stage 1 map (stock EVO) and uploaded it successfully to the UTEC. Car feels exceptionally flat with little or no boost above 4500rpm. I HAVE NOT installed the TurboXS boost control unit. Is this necessary to run the base map at stock boost levels? I'm thinking it's either very necessary or the stock Evo map from the TXS site doesn't sit well with an 05 and the larger hotside.

Do you have a boost gauge?

I had the utec on my STi without the the abc and it was fine.

If you need a boost gauge let me know I can get you one that you can borrow.

No boost gauge as of yet. Actually, I may have an old Autometer lying around that I used pre-AVCR on the RX7. Boost definitely isn't where it should be, far less, if any.

Ok well if you can't find the gauge I can dig one up for you. Does Turbo XS have any different maps for 05s?

Nada, just the stage one stock EVO and the stage two, turbo back exhaust. I'm going to shoot them an e-mail. Still haven't found a "pro" that'll tune UTEC's in Florida.

I looked over the Stage I map briefly (and I'm not fully up on the use of the UTEC yet) and noticed the fuel in the Stage I isn't touched....it's all zero's. As for timing, I have no reference to the stock map. The boost, however, said ECU up to, if I remember correctly, 30% and then it says 75 for the rest of the map, 40% on up it's set at 75. I'm going to install a downpipe and the boost control module tomorrow but it's looking like the map on TurboXS's web site is no good for the 05's. And STILL no pro-tuner to be found in Florida that's UTEC savvy!

I'm going to start with the UTEC's boost control module that came with it and go from there. Most stock solenoids are quite good and with the UTEC's control over boost, it should be just as good as say an add-on electronic boost controller like the AVC-R in ramping up boost and I won't have to cut/splice wires, leaving tell-tale signs for dealership a-holes The premise for all my mods is that they can be removed without a trace and be easily replaced by the stock components. I'm not sure if this is true on all 05 Evo's, but every nut and bolt in my engine compartment has been painted with a red and blue line, extending on the nut and the bolt, so that if one were to remove or alter anything, the paint would be affected and leaving signs there'd been tampering. I should take a picture. Not sure if the dealership or if Mitsu did it. My feeling is the dealer did it.

I installed the UTEC into my '05 Evo and Turbo XS MAP sensor, and it didn't seem to make much difference. But after a few days, the boost dropped to 4-5 lbs and that's all it will make on either the stock map or the Stage 1 map. I just took it out for now, may ditch it.
