I hope some of those features at the least make it into our firmware.. I really like the map5 using for PWM output of the spare solenoid, can use it with water injection. and True dual stage launch and flat shift.. among other things..

Me like so far. Changes to the software include the following; (for WRX )
1. Addition of a launch RPM and a flat shift RPM setting.
2. Removal of start up CEL sequence.
3. Knock light (CEL) flash threshold is now user defined.
4. Active knock retard of maps.
5. Removal of coolant set point correction of fuel and timing.
6. Addition of air temperature correction tables.
7. MAF scaling for non closed loop fuelling.
8. Optional use of Boost Map 5 for PWM control of spare solenoid.
9. Transition smoothing of closed to open and open to closed loop.
10. Hold the wastegate shut until a predetermined manifold pressure.
11. Last event record of knock stored.
I am psyched about the 2 step, but man I really really want a blow through MAF. Damn you Jack! You never should have given me a ride in your car. The butt dyno says that the blow through setup is worth about 20 HP.

That is a really good feature
I have been tweaking my setup for like 2 days now getting the transition to be flawless. With the help of MalibuJack and Jermaine I was able to get my setup dialed in pretty nice. I am very happy this is the first time I have ever played with any type of engine management

wow. . I hope they do the blowthrough and I hope they sell the hardware for it as well. . .
Thanks for this update.

Yea the Blow through MAF will open the door to easier tuning w/ the Utec as well since the readings are going to be more smooth and consitent. And then we all can run big *** turbos w/o restriction! RNR or AMS here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yah, I have to admit the blowthrough meter was good for around 30whp on my car.. But like everyone else is speculating, the consistency is what makes it so much better than the stock MAF, the stock MAF can flow plenty of air, but its hard to get it to read consistently.
I personally think the Cobra MAF worked alot better than the GM Maf, my old corvette and 97 Camaro SS, used to have trouble with the MAF on very humid days due to moisture collecting in the sensor. But hopefully TurboXS makes the configuration settings configurable so you can use either an analog MAF (0-5v Ford style) or Digital MAF (1kHz to 30kHz GM) and choice of Air Intake Temp (AIT) sensor.
All the other upcoming features (and the few we'll probably see but aren't yet documented) will improve the functionality of the UTEC, currently I am able to do alot of the things that were requested as features by using addon components. Its just going to be nice to be able to do it all with one device.

I had emailed Jermaine with some questions about UTEC. I asked him when the update was going to be released and he had this to say.
"Evo8 software update should be soon. I never give dates I just up and surprise everyone
"
So I guess http://www.turboxs.com/evoutecupdate.htm is my new homepage until the release come out
