maintanence help

hi im a noob when it comes to cars but im extremely attracted to evo8 and i plan to purchase one around dec. but i havent decided yet since i have heard that evos have high maintanence cost =/

i only drive to school everyday and go out on weekends but i will NEVER race or go offroad or anything that damages my baby.
hmm if u guys can list out my following questions:
1. how long can i drive until i have to replace clutch
2. about when to have an oil change
3. how long can the tires last?
4. if i add a BOV does it damage anything or decrease my car life?
5. is BOV illegal in Los Angeles? i heard it is

ur help will be greatly appreciated and please dont exaggerate the price =/

1. depends on your foot and how you drive. some people have more than 50k miles under stock clutch and some one burned the clutch under 800miles.

2. oil change 5k miles each interval or 5 month is good enough.. going anything like 3 months is just waste of earth resource.

3. tires run about 20-25k i believe.. still depend on how you drive.. someone can actually smoke the stock tires under 5000 miles (all track)

4. bov <- why would you need this? ricer? stock bov is pretty strong.

5. Dont think so... our cars comes with BOV stock... if you are referring to the farting sound between shift... i believe SRT4 comes with that stock too.

expect to spend $200 each month (dont forget gas, insurance, and monthly payment) . when it comes to services etc, you might need to put in 1-2 thousand dollars (brakes, tires, clutch)

hope i'm not misleading someone

Buy an SRT4 so you can have a BOV happy car and that might fit into your student young person price range. Also search for gods sake, this info is all over.

maintnance

it all depends on how you drive for the clutch and oil changes. all manu. require u to change your oil evry 5k miles, but you really think car can go on for 5k miles without changing oil. check your oil with the car you have now check it after you have a 1k miles after you change your oil and notice its starting to get black allready. i prefere you change oil every 2-3k miles on syn oil. oil will lose its life due to the heat of moving parts, its just that we ourselfs own a high performance car and should treat it like one. about the bov. the bov is meant to discharged any unwanted air traveling back to the turbo to prevent it from surging and damage the turbo. the better the bov vents air the better your turbo would be and its life spand. and yes all bov is illegal in the state of california unless its none adjustable. (found that out because i got a ticket for it myself)
