"Hiccup" in my dynoflash tune...trying to fix, help

[IMG][/IMG]

Ok, situation... I finally got the new clutch in, so no more slipping, I figured I would take her out and do some datalogging, and clean up the AFR... and now I am stuck trying to smooth out this "hiccup" in the AFR, if you notice it jumps all the way to 12.1, though it is at 2750, boost is up there and it is concerning me. Should I be worried about this? How would you guys tune it out, I am not a tuning expert, so this is kicking my butt. I have a zietronix wideband, dynoflashed ecu, and an safcII. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks! Sorry about the picture, I am also not computer savy when it comes to editing photos and posting them.

it's fine man. your best bet is to get a pocketlogger or some device to see your timing. that way you can see if your ecu is pulling timing therefore seeing knock.

yeah, i was told the something similar from a buddy, that it could be the ecu advancing timing to spool the turbo, one way or the other I am not yet in full boost so it really isnt a big deal, but I still would like to see what kind of timing I am getting at that point... I already have a pda, just not the program or cord.

if you want any corrections donw just send me the sheet with your ecu and I will adjust it per your request

IMHO 12.0 at 2700 is ideal as you want it slightly lean in that area to aide in spool up

If you have any problems you can contact me instead of posting here as i do not often come in this section

Thanks

Hey no problem Al, this wasn't a thread to discredit the dynoflash, I am loving it, I was just talking beyond the flash, and thought it was just something inherrent (sp?) in all cases, I figured it would be there I just wanted to make sure it was ok, or whether I should try to tune around it. By the way, this thing is a fookin' beast with that flash and a little fine tuning with the s-afc, I really like the dynoflash thanks Al.

The use of a SAFC over the flash to fine tune the fuel trims to match the individual car is a real winner for sure.

In fact some of the fastest evos run just that combo - i have several customers in the 11 second club with that set up

The reason why it is so effective is that with a close base map you dont need to make large SAFC corrections to dial in the right a/f and thus the ECU is reading a more accurate LOAD reference which does not result in overly advanced ignition timing. Also the more performance orientated ingition tables on the base Dyno Flash are a huge improvement over the stock maps

Again - I dont think 12.0 at 2700 is an issue but if you want it richer just send it in and I will make a free correction

If you add more fuel to the mixture down there, wouldn't it delay the onset of boost a little bit? You're right, though. The mixture is getting quite a bit leaner at 2700.

I dont know how you are doing your logs but they dont look right to me

This is how its supposed to look

Notice I carefully plot the boost and a/f in inverse relationship so they neatly cross as the car is spooling up

Lean spool up is good - NOT TOO LEAN - just lean enough to get the turbo spooling

One you reach full boost you want it to be in the 11's

What gear is your pull in - 5th ?

Also - note - in most cases there is a slight lag in the time it takes the exhuast gases to reach the o2 sesnor and be recorded - IF your 02 sesnor is in the rear of the exhuast

^ Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but I did a 3rd gear pull with those numbers... and I don't know how to transfer my logs from the zeitronix to the format you have showing... do you know how? Also, I did a solid 4th gear pull the other day on the freeway up to about 140, and the afr was like 10.1! What is that all about?? I am not sure which gear I am supposed to tune in, I have always been told 3rd, but with that low of afr's in 4th gear, I let a 1st gen pull on me, I was pissed!

The stock ecu will enrich the fuel mixture as the coolant temps rise

if you are doing 140 mph pulls with the gas down and the coolant temps rise the car goes richer

Easy solution is the $5.00 Buschur Racing Race Chip which is going to fix the coolant temp at a constant level and freeze the a.f

So, how do you transfer data from the wideband to the graphs that you are displaying? Also, should I tune on a 4th gear pull? Won't that make my afr's in 3rd gear higher, and even higher in 2nd? What would should I shoot for, 11.3:1?
