ECU+ power Limit?
ECU+ help me
Just wondering when u start running into issues with ecu+. is there ever going to be a launch control cause thatd be nice.
Just looking for some feedback with people who have it on there cars

i dont see why ecu+ would run into issues with holding power. there have been cars with over 400whp running only off an safc. an ecu+ can do much more than an safc. one thing that many people find problems with is the stock maf, if you run ecu+ and are putting out a good amount of power you can use a blowthrough setup and use a gm maf and run it after the bov. by doing this you should be able to easily support more power and bigger turbos. i run a 50trim turbo and put 385whp on a very safe tune at the moment and have noticed no problems with ecu+. it should also have no problems supporting the car when i put it on the dyno again and shoot for 420whp
Well, I'm shooting for 500whp(dynojet) with the current turbo. I previously put down 364 on Buschur's MD, which if you use Dave's conversion of 15% or 18%, is between 418-429(dynojet). This was before I changed WG actuators. I'm estimating I was between 430-440whp(dynojet).
Going to get the silver box, a blow through GM MAF and a larger turbo, then shoot for 6-700hp. But the larger turbo is a late next year idea.
I read that Tom is looking at launch control. But he has a bunch of other features he is working on now also.

I don't think launch control is going to be doable using the current ECU+ architechture. Normally, launch control is done by cutting spark or fuel if the RPM goes over a certain level, just like the rev limiter, but lowered when the clutch is in. For the same reason the ECU+ can't raise your rev limiter, it can't lower it when the clutch is depressed.

Okay, so I was wrong. There are at least two ways to accomplish launch control without having to control the rev limit inside the ECU. Happy news!
This brings up the question of prioritization of features. If you could only have one feature in the near term, would it be launch control or alcohol injection capabilities? I think I'll make a poll in another thread.

That's a tough one. I would probably vote for launch control.
But I would rather see boost control before either, but that involves more. Figure could use boost control with alky or launch, to further enhance each of them.

Thanks Mike, yeah WR. I was shocked when I put those numbers down on Buschur's dyno. Never the less did it 3 runs in a row. Boost was 31 tapering to 21 at 7k. With the hp actuator I can hold 24-26psi at redline. I know I was making more power then before the hp actuator, because I ran faster at the track on a hotter day. Though I never got to really shake the car down with the hp actuator. Killed a plug, then killed the motor.
