I know another guy who can set his code off the same way that i do. However he's not using the ECU +, and i could get that code that way even before i installed my ECU+ .

Dylan, have you tried any kind of ignition amplifier like MSD, HKS, or the new SunPower box?

Threw another one on the way to work. Was half throttle, maybe 3/4...hit maybe 5k, shifted, got the light.

I have some minor news on this - I was able, with some creative software, to make my car throw the P0300 last night. Finally! Why's this good news? Well, the first step in fixing a problem is being able to reliably make it happen, and when I can reliably make something happen, there's a much better chance I can make it un-happen.

So... probably no need to post any more about the codes, since I have at least one way to reproduce it.

2800 rpm, usually in 4th or 5th, light throttle - maintaining speed, really. Doesn't happen 100% of the time but definitely if she's well warmed up it's more likely. I lend credence to the driveline harmonics theories and GEARS (TRE) claims tranny rebuilds make it go away ...

I run a C-Reader II cuz it makes me puke otherwise. Started at <9K miles STOCK, I now have 45K non-stock.

Just normal driving around the neighborhood. But as I mentioned, I had tweaked the software (in a negative way) so that it really should have thrown a code.

I still don't know how he could have done the whole operation by himself!
Do you ever sleep Tom?

You can see from my 2:00 AM posts on EvoM that the answer is clearly no!

Guess I am lucky. My baby sleeps well through the night :}
Oh yeah. I got a question about mounting the ECUplus box. Does anyone have a picture of a good way to do this? Im thinking of making a bracket.
hmm...wonder if I'll wake the baby firing up the power drill.

You'll wake the baby up, I promise, I've done it. I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old. It's not the baby you have to worry about when you wake the baby up though, it's momma. She can get REAL mean REAL quick.

Damn straight. Luckily my garage is detached in the back so my 9 month old and the good 'ol wife will not hear a thing.

About mounting the ECU+, I made a simple bracket out of aluminum and used the OEM ECU mounting holes and bolts to secure the metal. I then used velco strips to attach the box. Its held up fine even for 2 years of autox and open track days as well as everyday driving punishments
