Saving and Loading maps from the Palm
Saving and Loading maps from the Palm
In response to several requests, I used today to implement saving and loading maps in the Palm software. See screenshots. Works just like the Windows software - you can load just the fuel maps, just the timing maps, just the other things, or any combination.
This is pretty handy in that now you don't have to drag around a laptop to switch maps.
This feature will be in the next software release for the silver box units, which'll be out as soon as I get some more stuff implemented.
And happy holidays to all!

It's easier for me to analize my logs and create my maps from the data that I see. Forget I asked though, you shouldn't have to do a bunch of work because I don't have a laptop =) That was pretty selfish of me.

Thank you for a great xmas present!
Tom, you sir, are one classy engineer.
Im glad I got on ground floor.
Now let me get on ebay for a cheapo Palm :}
My laptop should not be called a laptop. Oh wait, it's called "Desktop-Replacement" for obvious reason :P

Uh, have you actually done this? I usually change my maps at the moment I'm running the car, because that way I can immediately see the feedback from the change I made. If I had to leave the car, go in the house/office, edit the map on the desktop, and then repeat the process, it would take a LOOOOOONG time!
From the tuning I've done I've seen about a 20hp gain according to ECU+ from my flash basemap.

I have to agree that working on the desktop for log analysis and map creation is a great option. I put this in as a feature request. I don't think it would be too difficult to come up with an ecd file editor, though I still have not looked at the file structure.
I got spolied withe the utec and ucc for off-line data anlysis and map creation. There is so much data available with the ecu+ logs that I like to take my time, compair multiple runs on the same settings to rule out anomalies, etc.
Having real time tuning is critical, but offline tuning is very nice feature to have.
