You don't need a gauge to tune, you need to datalog the AFRs vs. RPM. A gauge is good to monitor AFRs while driving though, but definitely not necessary for tuning.

The AEM UEGO is not a good way to go IMO. It has a very limited AFR range, particularly on the rich end of the scale and the range isn't adjustable. As far as I know, it has no alarm capability, no configurability for colors/display, no datalogging ability, no ability to show readings from other sensors, etc. Which gauge does all this? The Innovate XD-1. Incredible product. I have one and am 100% satisfied with it.

What about the PLX R - 500 that seems like a great buy. I am going to be getting a WB shortly as well. I dont know what im going to use to tune. I have thought about going the AFC route but Im unsure as of right now. I like the PLX R because it logs knock.

I'm using the plx 300 it works great. The only bad thing about it is that when it's in direct sun light it can be hard to read.

I use the AEM Gauge type wideband price is roughly 250 (new)
you can connect the output signal to the pocketlogger and data log with RPM, AFR and timing.

I'm using the AEM gauge. I'm able to data log with it using either a laptop or my EBC. You do really need to data log the A/F's if your going to be tuning your car. Just looking at a gauge while you drive wont be a good way to tune.

Everyone has a favorite. Don't rush into it. The AEM is calibrated with a resistor and people say as the O2 sensor ages the resistance changes and thus the O2 accuracy changes. I had one, it worked well but you couldn't clibrate and the connector is about 1" in diameter and you have to take it apart to get it through your firewall( use two paperclips and tease the pins out). I have an HKS, expensive, digitial read out, uses a free air calibration, adjustable. Good but no datalogging capabilities. I have the XD-1 /LC-1 combo in my EVO. It looks good but I'm having problems adjusting my gain so my AEM ECU and the XD-1 read the same. Others like the PLX and the Zetronic. Read about them, decide what you wnat to use it for, and get the one you want to live with not the one someone else wants you to get.
