2 computers, save warranty?

If the stock computer was removed and preserved with its original flash, could another computer be inserted and flashed... Then if something happened that needed the warranty, replace the tuned computer with the stock computer so the dealer won't be able to see any flashings? I don't have an evo so I don't know if it will be obvious to see if the computer has been swapped from things such as broken seals or the wiring being tampered with.

i guess mitsubishi won't even honor their warranty if you put in an aftermarket air freshener so whats the point of worrying about engine management and being able to conceal it

A new ECU will run you $700. It would be cheaper just to have the car towed home if it were to break down, take out the ECU, ship it back to get it reflashed to stock, reinsert it, then take it to the dealer.

TY, for a answer, most car companys will not let you buy another ecu, Dodge wouldn't let me buy a 49 state ecu cause my truck was from Cali...

Again ty and have a safe weekend

thanks f dub for the reply. i knew it would be expensive but i just cant find some definite evidence anywhere that the dealer wont be able to detect that an ECU has been flashed for a tune and then flashed back to stock to save the warranty... with modern technology and the knowlege of the the tuning scene it seems too good to be true that the dealer cant determine it to void the warranty

You could go with a piggyback like ECU+ or something along those lines. That way you keep your stock ECU intact.
