Thumbs up Vishnu IX Reflash Review

My car: 2006 Evo IX MR w/ turbo-back exhaust & test pipe
for Dyno Graphs click here

After my previous bad experience with my evo VIII being road-tuned for a UTEC (not Vishnu obviously), I was very hesitant to get my IX tuned by anyone. But after doing some research and listening to a few friends recommendations, I decided to try the Vishnu reflash. I figured this would be the least risky, since I could always have it reflashed back to stock.

After getting tuned on the Dyno in Houston yesterday by Shiv, I can tell you there is no way I’d ever go back to stock. First I just want to say how impressed I am with how Shiv runs his company. They are definitely customer oriented, which is a nice change from my previous experience. Not only that but they actually know what they’re doing (which is also a nice change)!

Now back to the car. I originally sent in the ECU to be reflashed about six weeks ago. Just the reflash alone was a huge improvement all around, and as the dyno numbers showed we were putting down 300whp just with the mail-in flash. Since this was such a dramatic difference, I was very anxious to have Shiv do his magic.

It was cool to see the progression of the dyno graphs after each consecutive pull. The graph kept getting smoother and smoother until we hit 313whp and 300ft-lb. Shiv kept geeking out on the laptop, and each time he would get a little bit more power. Very impressive. Not only is the car much more powerful now (I can really feel the torque increase), but it drives so much smoother, it’s unbelievable. I’ll post another review once I have more miles on the tune, but so far I would give Vishnu the highest rating possible!

Luffy

P.S. The only thing I was disappointed about was that I didn’t get any merch! I want t-shirts and stickers!

Shiv usually has a bunch of stickers; however, if you don't ask, he'll forget them and leave them in his rentacar

I can't wait for the TT dynoday w/Shiv

That is a solid 355whp/340wtq on a dynojet on pump! With enough weight pulled out, that is enough for high 11s around 114mph.

Very impressive numbers! Especially the torque range. I'm looking forward to getting my car tuned in May.

I like how you always put it in drag-perspective!
