I had the same problem. After i put a walbro 255 the car got VERY rich in fuel and run worse. Actually i dont think one needs a walbro if not run over 24psi. At least this is what we saw on a Dyno.

However i highly disagree with the stock airbox. The car needs air. Get a carbon hood with the hole in the place where airbox gets the air. Leave that "plastic curve" in place. Make a carbon box that follows that "plastic curve" and in there get the larger filter you can get. In a few words, create something like the A'PEXi Aluminum Induction Box but much cheaper and without relocating anything.

You need to figure out if you are running rich or not. I suspect that you are. Do you have a good wideband O2 sensor/logger? If you do, then do a 3rd gear pull from 3K rpm to cutoff or redline and see what AFRs you get. You should be between 11-11.2 at in the higher rpms and tapering to 10.9-10.8 by redline/cutoff. If you have anything less than that, then you are running rich.

I have read that the Walbro makes you run a tad richer than stock, which is pretty bad considering how rich stock is. But it seems to me that your problem began BEFORE the Walbro and became worse with it.

As was suggested, go back to the stock airbox and a drop-in K&N filter. The stock box is good for 400 WHP. Our MAF is very finicky and does not like it when you change the airbox. But again, your problem seems to have started after that.

Get a JDM DV, they are the best for our cars. They hold boost well and are not VTA.

Good luck
