Problem with UTEC

Another thing i noticed is the problem only occurs in map 0 (passthrough). In full thottle in map 1 (stage 1) it is fine. If i do 1/4 throttle on map 1 it wont go past 4500 though.
Maybe the wiring to the MAF is screwed up? But if it is then why on the stock ecu alone it is fine?

I used to get an error with the UTEC when I was running a beta firmware, in passthrough mode I'd get a CEL error for a baro sensor, it wasnt passing the signal through correctly... you might have to test it on a different car to be sure its a bad UTEC.. its possible you sent back your UTEC, they serviced your unit and sent back the same unit and never found the actual problem..
It can be an intermittant problem, 1/4 throttle is about the crossover point so I would still look at your configuration, maybe a bad map, or corruption, or something else..
are you using an OLF map and OLF is disabled? Same with boost control, did you have closed loop boost control map and its still open loop?

It is def not my old UTEC. It is a brand new one. I called TXS and asked them myself. I am running OLF and i have a Electronic Boost Controller so the UTEC doesnt even control boost.
I doubt its the map because WOT is fine and map 0 (passtrhough) is the problem.
Maybe im having a problem with voltage. The code is a low circuit input. Can the UTEC be drawing that much power from the car where is cant read the MAF? Maybe there is a problem in the maf wiring harness? Engine grounds? The car does infact have a small battery kit and the alternator has 96K miles. Just some ideas i thought of but i am no means a mechanic.
Its possible the input voltage is very low, and therefore not enough to be regenerated... but my experience in the past was firmware not correctly regenerating the signals in passthrough mode..
Anyway, the car will start and run in program or run mode.. however in program mode there are some quirks you would see, since its expecting a programming sequency the logger may display unexpected data, or the maps may not save when you try to..
This may be anomolous, but do you turn the key and immediately crank it? I used to have problems with the MAF not initializing fast enough and throw CEL codes (and run poorly and in open loop)
If you haven't tried this... Turn the key, wait for the CEL Light to flash your map number (or just wait 3 seconds approx) then crank the engine.. see if that helps.. It may be something that simple....
Worse comes to worse we can arrange to get you out to my shop here on Long Island and go over the car more closely than could otherwise be done.

Oh and another thought... IS your ECU scaled for new injectors? If it is, did you also set the scaling on the UTEC? There are two scaling settings in the UTEC, one represents closed loop fuel MAF offset, the other represents the OLF injector scaling for the maps... Its possible when you switch at that threshold your basically cutting fuel to the engine or flooding it due to unscaled injectors.

The car is in run mode and not in program mode. I switched it to program mode and it wont start....

we swaped out the utec and installed it in my car and the utec is working normal on my car!! so a bad utec is not the case!! the car only goes into limp mode when the utec is installed but not when the stock ecu is in!!!
Damn, then it very well could be something in the wiring harness.. Do any of the wires look crimped or kinked anywhere?
Oh, and swap MAF sensors.. And worse comes to worse, see if you can swap ECU's.. Maybe there's really something wrong with your ECU or the MAF?? Now that we can reflash the ECU's, swapping with another car is easy..

Ive also recently realized that my dipstick keeps popping up. I wonder if this has anything to do with it? However like I said I only get that code with the UTEC plugged in. Been driving the car all day without the UTEC and no problems.

You dipstick popping out can be caused by
1) PCV Valve stuck
2) Vent tube blocked, kinked, or whatnot
3) Excess blowby under boost..
Probably unrelated...
You have any plans to come out to the Island any time soon?

You know something.. there is that extra wire that comes out of the map switch for the Subaru launch control feature, I cut that wire off so it wouldn't get in the way... Have you looked at that? Or on the switch?
With everything basically disabled, the only thing I can think of is your crossover point and something weird with your injector scaling.. Can you set the crossover point to something higher or lower and see if that affects it?
