Christian will most likely not be able to reply to your message for a little bit. Cobb is taking this week off.

This has been covered a couple times but I will go over it again. The cobb with have all of these but not limited to abilities that EcuFlash does not have.

Ability to flash your car without a laptop present. All done through handheld so you do not need to leave your $1000 laptop sitting outside at a autoX event or have a extra laptop dedicated to just falshing your car.

You will have basemaps that cobb has built so you do not have to worry about tuning your own map or you have a great starting point to start tuning.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT. If you have a problem with anything you can get a live person on the phone in the matter of minutes. Also that cobb has researched and tested the product extensively so you will most likely not have a problem.

Better user interface and easier tuning via Streettuner. Having used both street tuner and the ECUflash the old street tuner has a better interface for tuning IMO and the new streettuner I think they are even adding more features into it.

I could go on but I have some work piled up that I have to do.

Like I have said before the EcuFlash cable system may be better for some people but this option is also better for some people then the cable. If you do not think it is for you don't buy it. But don't be closed minded and say stupid things like the quote below.

He said programing complete. That is when the AP is done flashing your car.

wow, some posts are really negative here....and it seems that half of those are from people who are confused about what the device's prime functions and benefits are.
now, all the obvious benefits aside (which have been discussed already), i would like to point out that this thing will also be perfect for people like me who want to have a base tune to improve mpg and boost from the stock map, with a good safety margin. then later on, another base tune can be easily downloaded and flashed after i upgrade the basics like TBE, intercooler piping, etc. I don't know about others, but this is what i would PREFER to do and i'm sure there are many out there like myself. that is, if you don't wanna wait for mail in flash.
also, i remember Warrtalon was having problems getting into his autox class with his alky and he had no easy way to flash to another map with lesser boost values and then back. Warr, maybe this thing is for you?

This is the exact reason I am thinking about it. That way I can stay legal for autox but still enjoy the alky when I do track days and other events. There are a few other ways around this (I believe Warrtalon runs race gas at autox's on another ECUFlash map) but they are all going to cost the same amount of money plus.

im for the AP 2.0 for the evo, ive had great experiances with the AP for the wrx/sti, simple and user freindly.
the best thing is tuning on the fly if need be, for those who do not have a lap top or for ppl who simply do not want to carry then lap top with them.
for the ppl who keep going on about how flashing ( through cable ) is the way to go then you need to unerstand that this tool is a stepping stone to ppl who havent even thought about tuning. after " they " buy the AP and download a map they have the option with going with an AP 2.0 street tuner ( piggy back style ), very simple and straight forward, excelent for novice ppl. then they have another option after they get a hang of the street tuner, they have the option to go with pro-tuner ( fully stand alone style ). so you see the ppl who crave the AP are ppl who like having different options and like to be in control............AP FTW!!!!

The street tuner is more of a full standalone then a piggyback. It has full control over fuel, timing, and boost it does not interpret or modify any sensor signals to make the changes.

Just so you can see how complete the streettuner is it has enough control for anyone to tune their car. The protuners only have access to a couple different tables which are not used very often.

But I do agree with your statement just not refering the street tuner as a piggy back

it was all a conspiracy orchestrated by the GWB administration to cover up for the 9/11 conspiracy.

Just an update for those that care, I spoke with Cobb on Thursday and they said their still a month away from having the Accessport ready. They have some major issues their trying to work through. Something about the factory ecu not liking their maps, or so the tech told me.
