Any ignition gurus out there???
My car has been a nightmare when it comes to ignition issues. I cant boost over 26 psi with it missing. So i bought the AEM twin fire with 300m coils. Still missed up top. then i went to a 1st gen setup. Wouldnt work up top. Yes, the dwell settings were all correct. Pulled the plugs today and noticed the weirdest thing. The plugs were red, race gas, they are always red, and the grey spot where the spark jumps to was half way down the "prong" on the side. It used to be a grey patch directly above the electrode. There is a little square pad above the electrode where the spark used to jump to, but not any more. It looks like on all 4 plugs, the spark isnt jumping to the tip of the "prong" but half way down on the side of it. What would cause the arc to jump further than its closest point. Ime quite positive this is whats hapenning.
What plugs are you running and what is the gap? As a rule of thumb if it misses in the low RPM range close the gap, if it misses in the hi RPM range open the gap. You might want to try going one step colder on your plug. I use the NGK plugs and went to the BPR8ES and solved my misfire problems.

Usually to by another ignition doesn't solve the problem.
What gap are you running.. No matter what ignition system I try or test, They *ALL* had problems with larger gaps and high boost.. I finally bit the bullet and ran a BPR9ES (2 step colder plug) gapped at .022 and the problem went away on my car.
