Which ECU tune gets the most whp increase
Which ECU tune gets the most whp increase
I have been checking around this site for a few days and I have sceen many many different tuners with ECU upgrades.
I was set on the Vishnu ecu upgrade but now I have sceen so many others I am wondering if you guys out there could help me out with which ECU tune (everything else stock) makes the biggest increase in WHP on a dyno?

It's not the program/computer being used it's the skill of the tuner.
If you want the best Commercially available computer it's the motec m800, but it's overkill for 99% of the evo owners out there.

a skilled tuner with an SAFC can get you more whp then a newb with an EMS any day of the week.
That being said there are lots of tuners out there, just do some research to see which one will do the best job for you.

The one that is custom made for you car, with someone with at least some skill and some tuning experience. Or take some time and learn how yourself for the price of one reflash.
I made 273 whp with a completely stock car, on stock boost with the JDM GT/GSR map and a special mivec map.
To put this on yourself, all you would need is ecuflash (free) and an $80 cable. Throw in a $300 wideband (or less), some forum time and some conservative practice tuning and you can make your own tune, change it any time you want (after each mod) and never pay again for tuning or send in flashes, or anything like that.
Good tuners are great for getting a good tune, but why pay everytime you want to change it? Fwiw.

the best tuner???? the million dollar question! well when it comes down to it every person gots there own way to get from point A to point B. not to mention differant theories, it more how you the owner of the veichle feel about the tuner because when it comes down to it you dont know what the tuner is doing unless you compared tuners. some might like tuner A some might like tuner B, so when you go get a tune make sure it repitable talk to previous customers and see how they like it.

From COBB:
Stage 1 = AccessPORT only
Stage 2 = AccessPORT and TBE
Evo 8 RS:
Stock: 227 HP & 240 lb/ft
Stage1: 266 HP & 248 lb/ft
Stage2: 282 HP & 260 lb/ft
So, gains are:
Stage 1 = 39 HP & 8 lb/ft
Stage 2 = 55 HP & 20 lb/ft
