Power FC Boost Controller install??

where does the power fc boost controller mount up to the power fc at? We are installing it right now in my brothers car but the instructions are in japanese and we can't find any info on where to wire this thing up. we have all the piping figured out but the wiring has got us completely baffled. Anyone able to help us out on this?

I can read Japanese.. Email me at teamosoi76@yahoo.com with a scan of the manual and I'll try and figure it out. I'll be out and about this weekend, so please be patient with the reply..

okay, I may do that. Thanks.

I think that I have found the problem though. It looks like they sent the wrong kit. On the website that me and my brother were looking at they listed the part numbers of the Power FC's that this particular kit is good for and this one we have here isn't listed among them. The Apex'i part number for the one that they sent us is 415-A001. Does anyone know the part number for the correct one?
Normally wouldn't mind so much but the place we got it had to special order it and it took two weeks to get in. Now it looks like we're looking at another two weeks to get the right part.

Well, we think we found the problem. The reason we can't find any information about the boost controller for the Evo power fc is because there apparently is no boost controller for our Power FC. We've spent the whole day on the phone and looking on the internet and there is nothing whatsoever that says an Evo VIII has a boost controller kit for their Power FC. I wouldn't recommend taking technical advice from Option Imports if I were you guys.

there are a few ways you can check

1) next to hand controller port, should be a white socket with either 3 or 5 pins

2) SETTING, BOOST (do you have this?)

3) ETC, SENSOR SW CHECK (do you have a sensor called BOST?)

4) can you post a photo of SENSOR SW CHECK?

5) MONITOR, 1 CHANNEL, BOOST (do you have this?)

there are two types of "powerfc boost control kits" one is 3 pin and the other is 5 pins
i would be suprised if there is no boost control for evo 6/7/8 PFC. the 3 pin kit uses the cars factory wastegate solenoid wiring for the solenoid on/off control, so u need to find your cars loom and find the wastegate control wire and connect the solenoid (same as the avcr kit solneoid) so those wires. the other 3 wires are the map sensor, which is in the boost control kit.

with the map sensor connected BOST will have a voltage value and BOOST will come up under MONITOR. you also need to turn the boost ON under ETC, FUNCTION SELECT, you should have "Boost control kit" or something like that in there.

If you dont have the map sensor connected and you enable the boost kit the engine check light will come on

The power fc itself does have the white socket on the side. all of the menus and submenus are there on the commander. It's almost like they forgot to put in another cable or something. The cables coming from the solenoid and the pressure regulator have connectors on them won't hook up anywhere. I was thinking that maybe their is another cable or something that hooks into the power fc and T's off to the solenoid and regulator.

yeah, that's what we had. Just think that they sent us the wrong one, or not every wire. We just went ahead and put an AVC-R on it that we had setting here in the box.

i still havent started the car since were still working on the motor, but..

will connecting 3 pins to the map sensor and 2 pins to a solenoid i got from an AVCR, rather than the air temperature sensor work?
