I'm hoping to pick up an LC-1 Wideband real soon, I just want to make sure I'll have a working USB to Serial converter before I do.

I currently have a Belkin PDA Adapter that is setup on COM2, I have no idea if this will work (Model # F5U109)

If you have an LC-1 and are using a USB to Serial adapter, could you please post which one you're using?

FWIW, I've tested with most of the common chipsets. Personally, I use a couple of Sewell adapters (which are based on the Prolific stuff), a no name from Radio Shack (that uses a Silicon Image chip), and an eval unit from FTDI.

So you haven't encountered one that DIDN'T work ?

 

I use the Keyspan 19-series USB<->RS232C adapters, and they work well with everything (including the LC-1).

 

On XP, no.
