Results of fooling around with the stock BCS

So I've been messing around with Boost Desired Engine Load and Wastegate Duty Cycle settings (among other things).

The results/settings are with the restrictor pill by the solenoid removed on an otherwise completely stock 05 Evo.

In the graph, it is with the Turbo Boost Correction zero'd out. The blue dots are from a 3rd gear pull with the Wastegate settings shown. The BDEL is irrelevant as the boost correction is zero'd out.

As jcsbanks mentioned in a recent thread, I've also found that going above 100% wastegate duty cycle does nothing. The pink dots are the interesting ones... With the blue dots, boost is hitting 1.4bar from 3.5k-4krpms. The pink ones, it was only hitting ~1.2 bar. The difference being, the wastegate duty cycles I had in maps 1 and 3 were 60 instead of 80. A duty cycle of 70 gives about 1.3 bar in that rpm range. With the blue dots, after 4k rpms, the boost goes up to 1.5 bar and holds until about 6k where it drops to 1.4 bar until 7k.

So, I found out that the ECU switches to either maps 1 or 3 when the coolant temp is below the 'temp for full boost control' value which is 85C/185F stock.

The duty cycle values that are 87 and 94 were 90 and 100, but that was causing the boost to spike a bit up to 1.6 bar. I have a little vid of boost gauge, I have to find somewhere to host it.

Well, I'm going to try out these BDEL and boost correction values tomorrow to see how I like it, but I think I've finally gotten the BCS system how I want it.

Opps, just realized I put this in the general section, can someone move it to ecuflash section please? Eh, damn being sick!

if your pretty much stock then wouldnt 1.6 bar be just a tad too high with crap 91 gas? other than that it seems like you have a really good idea of what your doing.

1.6 was actually not showing any knock on a single pull. But, I adjusted the wastegate duty cycle so that it no longer hit 1.6 and only hit 1.5 (going from 90 and 100 down to 87 and 94 respectively).

Are you still using the same boost settings in your ROM? Did you do anything new?

What boost peak are you hitting in psi and what are you tapering to by redline.

I just did the first flash on my ECU and zeroed the xede timing/fuel tables. The xede only controls boost now. But I want to remove the xede and that is why I am asking you about your settings.

I am running on 91 octane gas with a TBE as the only mod.
