Question I want to get tuned...but?

I know a lot. but i don't know even more. what is tuning? i hear about tuning all the time, but what is it exactly? i have few mods to my 9.. $550 magna-flow cat back, $350 suction HKS intake. Thats about it to the engine at least. I can feel the extra power, but i want more . I am getting a catdelete DC 3" downpipe- but where do i go from there. I know there is so many options out there but whats the most efficient? fuel pump? get tuned? manifold? PLEASE HELP me decide where to go from here.

Since the unveiling of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII on US shores we have been devoted to unlocking the potential for ECU tuning on this already powerful car. By focusing our skills on perfecting the individual tuning of Evo ECU's we are able to extract the most performance for each specific application. This same formula was used when we tuned some of the worlds fastest DSM's.

Unlike most aftermarket ECU tuning; DynoFlash reflashes your ECU on your car with your mods on the dyno, or real time on the street. This allows us to extract the maximum horsepower on your car while also providing a tested margin of safety. Your car can be tuned to suit your driving style, special fuel types and other personal needs.

With a team of experts ranging from DSM engine builders, DSM race car drivers, computer programmers, master technicians and ECU tuning experts you are guaranteed optimal fuel and ignition curves for your EVO VIII. Our tuning method begins with basic upgraded maps, which are fine tuned to suit your individual needs and to match your vehicle.

Typical "Off-the-shelf" reflashes or piggy-back units are tuned to accommodate a broad range of modifications and often claim to "learn" your mods. It is impossible for these units to compare to the custom tuning DynoFlash offers.

Two week money back guarantee road test on all through the mail flashes. If you are not 100% satisfied for any reason we will flash you back to stock with a full refund within two weeks of your reflash.

I'd recommend you email a few tuners with your list of mods and what you want to spend on your next batch of mods.

They will probably recommend
Boost controller
DP and hiflow or delete

Normally a IX doesnt need a fuel pump with this level of modification but since you have an intake I dont know for sure (check with the tuner), an upgraded fuel pump is always a good idea though.

There are tons of info on 9's here on EvoM to get to 12's easy for the least money that has been beaten to death.

I'd "SEARCH" if you really need help.

If you're in Jersey you should stop by TurboTrix or Ivey tune. They will be your best bet for a custom tuned ECU.

When people say "tuned" they are talking about reprogramming the cars computer to run at optimum levels for your mods and fuel type. A custom tune on a dyno is going to yield more power than a through the mail tune.
