Ok so what if this can happen

Ok i have an idea. it may be pretty far off but this is something that i have been thinking about for all tuners. I know there are a couple of tuners out there that do email tunes and what not. My idea was this, i am in the military and i know that when i have a problem with my computer at work i call this company up and they can control my computer from where they are at. What if someone created a program to where a "customer" can get tune by whatever tuner he/she wants. If i was to put my car on the dyno and hook up my computer to the car whos to say sean ivey, or jester, or mellon tuning, or reese tuning etc etc etc cannont control "my" computer and adjust accordingly instead of through emails or physically having to go the tuners. I think that way the tuner can branch off alot more and get alot more customers that way. I may be way off living in another era we havent met yet but i think that would be pretty dang cool if someone created a program for it. just my .02 cents

I would think that's doable through a remote desktop access program of some sort.

I talked with Aaron at English Racing about this a month ago... remote desktop tuning would be great!

In theory it might work, but then you have to think while the tuner is tuning it, you have access to actually watching what he/she does and can video tape it/record it and then the tuner would be giving away tuning lessons for free. Very good idea, but I just don't ever see it happening. Tuners work hard to achieve the status that they have. And most people who have gotten a tune on a AEM EMS or something similiar will not just give a tune out due to the amount of money and time it costs to get it done.

yeah very true. didnt even think of that. but if someone was to create the program and sort of like temporarily freeze the owners screen untill they made another pull then it could work. I know that it would be possible but i really dont see someone creating a program to do it. dang i wish i was smart lol

I have already done this...2 years ago. Its easy and effective, but the one thing it doesnt allow is the feel of the car. You cant always see a misfire in the logs, nor do you get the smell of oil or coolant. It does get the job done though most dyno operators would probably prefer to tune the car rather than have this happen.

Correct. There is a catlike reflex available from any superb tuner which allows the instant abort of a potentially dangerous pull in milliseconds.

From a fuel pressure regulator line popping off, losing a wga line, or just hearing audible detonation, its a developed set of sensory skills that you want there in person to be there with the car.

^^^word. WG line, FPR, EGR, boost leak, faulty sensors that you wouldnt know are wrong unless you are there, bad or incorrect gauges, dipstick popping out, etc. I tuned the cars as an emergency favor for some Europeans prior to a race but its not necessarily something I look to repeat.

lol @ word....

to me i really dont see the difference in just sending logs and flashing and doing it again, whether they tune through email or real time they still dont see/hear the car.

The only real way to get the power out of the aftermarket parts you put on the car is through a tuner there in the car, either on the street, or on the dyno. You cant take into account for the ****ty gas in some states, average temp, elevation, etc. There are the mail tunes but I am sure that if one of the tuners on here sent you a email tune, and then you came to the shop with a dyno and wideband you would be blown away. I would assume you have a tune already being in FL.

yeah i have been tuned like 4 times in florida. I was just asking for if i ever wanted to tune with someone outside of state and not have to make a drive all the way to them. I hear all these good things about all the other tuners, not that florida dont have good tuners, but sometimes you just wanna try something different.
