Is It a General Consensus?

Is it true that almost all Evo drivers go with Mobil 1 (of course pure synthetic)? Or is there a better oil that some of yall use to produce better numbers or that yields less wear and tear on the engine?

Just a quick response is fine.

1. Oil you use
2. Weight
3. Seen added proformance compared to other oils?

I'm sticking with what Mitsu recommends personally.

that's a great deal ... the oil alone is nearly $40.

I'm going to try out AMSOIL on my next change. I've heard that they can have issues with silicon bits, but only from one person.

I haven't messed with other oils besides factory Mobile 1.

I've used Mobile 1, Royal Purple, and Q Advanced.

My honest assessment is that there is little to no difference between the three. Q Advanced seem to get dirtier, quicker but I can't really be sure without any kind of empirical evidence.

All three brands worked well. I used Q Advanced for probably 9,000 miles. Royal Purple for 3,000. And Mobile1 for 6,000. I am currently using Mobile1 in the vehicle, but since I avoid the dealership like the plague, I will probably switch back to Q Advanced.
