Because the car runs really weird if the MAF is not properly calibrated and if they didnt re-calibrate when the removed the SAFC then that could be your problem. Plus it's a free and easy thing to try.
ok, my bad, just saw your last post.
There are several vendors on the board that provide flash tuning services. TTP, Mellon, Jestr, works, dynoflash, and probably others that I've left off (no order and not necessarily recommendations). I only tune local cars. The ECU Flash section has lots of sticky's for new people that are interested in tuning the stock ECU. I would recommend using a tuner that datalogs the car after the initial flash and customizes the tune for your specific region / mods / application / fuel.

as far as i know what mods are on the car is downpipe, sum kind of filter, turbo timer, s-afc, mbc (which was set way too high.. i was pushing out 25 psi!), .... exedy clutch, lowered, struts thats about it for the mods even though the last ones have nothing to do with it... as far as anything else.. no idea been busy with work havent had too much time to look around, the guy wasnt very informative couldnt really understand him and his bro in law was the one that i believe owned the car before him and he did all the mods....
checked the wiring from the ECU ur right... the MAF was disconnected... reconnected... car ran fine and threw a CEL again.. this time only for a O2 heating sensor.... later on today im going to check it out on the ECU if any other wire is disconnected... if its possibly not and everything is good there.... any way to check out the O2 sensor and see if its ok? and THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP! U SAVED ME BIG BUCKS! GREATLY APPRECIATED.... (stopped by mitsu to see what they would say about it... saw one of the service techs there had an evo...they wouldnt even let me talk to him.. they just said bring the car in 92 bucks an hour...... yeaaahhh.........)
You cannot unplug the safc and expect it to run right. The MAF wire is still disconnected with the harness unplugged.
You need to stop touching the SAFC and take it to a reputable tuner.
The CEL light is not an indication of the state of tune.
Because you say you messed with the safc and the CEL light is off has nothing to do with one another.

re-checked all the wires, un hooked the plug that was going to the ecu along with it.. CEL is still showing up (not that i thought it would change it) have two O2 sensors pulling up when i pull the codes... im assuming it has a wideband because of the downpipe.. anything to do with it? or am i completely missing something?... have no time to take it to a shop, and have no money right now to take it to the mitsu dealer ($92/hr)...
