Noob questions

Hi first of all I'd like to say that i am new to the forum and new to evos, I just got my evo IX in dec. and i just love this car.

now to the questions....

what are the first few upgrades that i should do if i want to get more power out of the car without causing too much damage to the engine since this is my daily drive car. second what's a good tuner in the VA/DC/MD area?

MBC = hallman, very consistant, and straight forward.

TBE you are going to get a million different answers as far as which is better.

Def. Hallman for boost control. HKS sometimes has fitment issues and necks down to 2.75 inches. I have a Megan turboback and it's the best bang for the buck hands down. 3 inch all the way back, stainless, angled muffler, perfect fit.

My understanding is that the intake isn't even necessary. Even a drop in filter of your own controversial choice should be fine at the first stages of upgrading.

Just my two cents here. I'm still new to the Evo game, but been a DSMer for a while.

These will be my first mods to the evo I promised myself I wouldn't modify. It's my daily driver...

Drop in K&N air filter
Boost gauge
Turbo timer
Evo IX diverter valve (bov)
UICP
LICP
Turboback exhaust
Manual boost controller
Some type of tune

How do you like the sound of your Megan TBE? I have been debating over which TBE system to purchase. I have heard that Perrin is relatively quite and i don't want something that is too loud.

LOVE my Megan! Sounds great, not too loud. Dosen't drone on the highway. Fitment was really good too. Pm Zeus. He will give you an awesome price and can answer any questions you may have.

322hp, not bad! Thanks for the help, i will be contacting Zeus this summer when i get the extra $$. I would like to make around 400hp then i should be happy for awhile.

P.S. Does your Hallman hold boost well or do you have to be constantly checking it and adjusting it? Thanks again.
